That looks fabulous on you MYH, and I. LOVE the photo of it with all your bracelets and your gorgeous gold Kelly!
Thank you! I will show bags, shoes, accessories as I feature scarves. I'm glad you enjoyed the photo.

Gorgeous! What a GREAT thread!!!
Thanks etoupebirkin for stopping by. Miss ya!

Awesome collection
Wow you're like scarfs consultant hehe
Thanks for sharing
Hmm..is that an actual job? I would love to get paid for talking about scarves and showing people how to tie them.

Here! I'm here! This is grrrrreat!
Hello! Glad you're here.

I love this one on you! I remember you posting it once before. It is so elegant in this colorway. I have bleu vert mauve in this design, which is one of my go to summer scarves and has a completely different vibe than this. I have had to resist buying this as a second colorway. It is particularly beautiful with your Kelly, shoes and accessories. From what I recall, many of your scarves have a beautiful, subtle elegant feeling like this. Can't wait to see more.
Oh, it was hard for me too to buy just one cw. By the time this scarf came out, I was close to my scarf saturation point and felt guilty about buying multiple cws. Funny thing is when the CSGMs came out the next season, none of the cws worked for me. It was so bizarre!
And thank you for your sweet compliment about my elegant scarves. That is so very nice of you to say. But really, Hermes is great at making luxe looking items so it's really not hard to end up with several in a collection.

I can see why this is your favorite! It is gorgeous, and beautiful on you! I adore the picture with your gold Kelly, shoes, and bracelets. I can't wait to see more!!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH AGAIN!!!!

I agree hclubfan! Half of my year is in cold weather too. So, we of course need so much more:graucho:

Well, I'm not a northeaster...but we have wickedly cold winters, too. So, I belief that qualifies me for the hundred marker:roflmfao:
Greengoddess8 - Thanks for joining us! I'm glad you like the photos. I can't help but add in accessories when I take a scarf pic. It's all the items working together that really make me love Hermes.

A few other thoughts about this scarf - it's a good year-round scarf, can be worn in all seasons, and transitions easily from day to night. Depending on how I tie it, I can make it look casual or dressy. My go-to favorite knot for casual is a cowboy knot or some modification of that knot. My favorite dressy way to wear a scarf is a long necklace knot. But keep in mind I live in LA so dressy is a relative word.

I love this!

That Mer au Ciel above is one of my personal favorites too, it goes with just about everything, and every season.

I want to know all about your first H scarf, which design and CW that it was, and what prompted you to choose that one.
Rainneday - I had to chuckle when I read that you wanted me to post my first H scarf because it was a disaster! I was a total newbie. Swayed to purchase a design and cw the SA helping me recommended. I didn't know anything about which cws looked good for my complexion, which colors I gravitated towards, and really let a stranger that didn't know me well steer me towards purchasing a scarf I think she liked for herself. LOL. She said it looked fabulous on me, so I took her word for it. Argh! And the lighting inside that boutique did not help. It was like a dark cave. I thought ok, she's the professional, I'll go with what she says. Oy! That scarf has long since been rehomed. It was Geometrie Cretoise. In this cw. In fact, the 5 pod looking things in the middle reminded me of larvae or footballs and the left and bottom edge looked like collegiate stripes to me. The scarf also has way too much pink in it for my liking. So that was a huge lesson learned.

But tomorrow, I will show my second scarf I ever purchased which I have kept! That one went much better.

Oh yeah. That's totally not you. Glad to see its ok to make mistakes, learn from them and move on to bigger better things.

Note to self: need more bracelets.

Oh, wow. Oh dear...the larvae footballs :roflmfao: I'm looking forward to hearing about your second scarf. :smile1: Did you also find an SA who was better at picking out your colors? There is definitely a skill to it...

PbP - I have made several mistakes. At some point, I will discuss the grail I hunted down like a crazy woman, only to discover, it looked ick on me. The most disappointing moment of my H scarf life. That one had to be re-homed too. With scarves, I let myself make mistakes because really, the monetary loss is minimal. But with bags, yikes! I think long and hard about them before I pull out my wallet. The loss on those (due to fees when reselling) makes my heart ache.

Hello silkies. At the behest of a H scarfaholics anonymous club here on tPF (you know who you are), I have been asked to share my collection of scarves and thought process behind why I chose these to be in my collection.

I'm not a natural writer so you may see alot of ramblings and random thoughts that are not presented in a logical way so I apologize upfront.

I'm typically a pared down type of gal when it comes to my wardrobe, but with scarves, I went a bit overboard. I know I don't have a huge collection by tPF standards, but I probably have enough to discuss my scarf collecting philosophy and if it stimulates a collecting discussion, then fantastic! :yahoo:

For those of you that have seen my bag showcase thread, I intentionally keep my bag collection small. I feel horribly guilty when I buy things and don't use them and with bags, if I have more than 10-11, I literally forget I own them.

But with scarves, well, they are smaller and easier to store so I have about 50. I think I just counted how many I own and currently it's at 47. I recently gave away 3 to my little sis to help her start her own collection. I do use almost all of my scarves, some more than others, but I will admit, it's always a work in progress. Some get rehomed, some new ones get adopted, and sometimes they follow me home from the boutique.

There is really nothing more magical than a scarf. On a day you are feeling uncreative with your outfit, just wear all black and pick out a Hermes scarf and toss on a bracelet or bag that matches the scarf, and voila, you have an amazing outfit.

Ok, let's get started. First I will show you a group shot and then I will go into each one and tell you a little more about it, why I like it, how I wear it, and all that good stuff. This process will probably take several weeks because there's no way I could do it in one go. So if you'd like to come along for the tour through my drawer, I'm pleased to have you on board.
Fantastic- looking forward to seeing your collection in depth and reading your personal experience of collecting.

Thank you so much for the idea of using acid free paper. I couldn't find it in the Container Store, but did find it on Amazon. LINECO - Unbuffered Acid-Free Tissue Paper, 30x40", Pack of 12.
After some Googling, it was recommended to use Unbuffered for silks and cashmeres. Hope this helps other TPFers who are looking to line their drawers.

Dear MYH, thank you so much for taking time to show us your beautiful scarf collection. As much as I love to see pictures of your little silky treasures, I love reading the stories behind them! Looking forward to meet all of them :graucho:

Wow, what an amazing scarf collection. You are a natural storyteller because this is so interesting to read. I like that you showcase the scarf with your bags and accessories, plus the mod shots. Looking forward to more...
