Oh my gosh, MYH! I love the twilly idea. Off to the craft store!

I have to laugh again at your "Cocotte" scarf and its alternate meaning as this morning I am getting ready to don my Aux Porte du Palais CSGM and smack in the middle is a half naked lady! GAH! Hope I haven't been parading her around the office the last time I wore it.

DH and I are just at home chilling with a glass (or two) of wine so I will keep posting. I've been gone for too long and I think the floodgates are opening. As long as you all are enjoying my random thoughts - I'll keep going.

Jumping to another topic - twilly organization. You know the small cylindrical boxes they come in? Super cute right? But...I do not like how the twilly is curled up in there and only the edges show. I have too many twillies now and cannot figure out which one is in there by popping the lid off. OK, so for a long time, I stored them flat and all lined up in a drawer. But every time I closed the drawer, they would all slide towards the back. :whut::whut::whut: I found this very displeasing.

So I''m racking my brain the other day for what would be a perfect solution for twilly storage and I thought of this....a bead organizer...the type you find in craft stores like Michael's or Joann's. So I dumped all my beads out (barely use them anymore anyways and my niece can sift through a ziplock bag if she wants to make something), cleaned out the organizer, and voila!!! They fit perfectly!! And I can see them all at once!

I thought I would share in case any of you want to adopt this method. It's so efficient and the whole thing fits perfectly into my shallow drawer in my closet. And the lid even closes too and keeps the dust out!! Only problem is...I need a bigger one. I'm at max capacity. :facepalm:View attachment 3516902

I love his idea MYH. And congrats on your beautiful CDS 70 silk. I love that design. Your Origami Xmas tree is too amazing. Yes, very depressed about the election results too. Sob.

MYH I really enjoy your posts, you have such a fun and engaging way of writing! Your origami tree is beautiful and so festive. I am an origami enthusiast and paper crafter so I have rolls and rolls of Japanese washi papers at home, which I use to make greeting cards for friends and family.

Also, your twilly organization is brilliant!

Also, speaking of the H origami paper, QuelleFromage posted that she has the scented H origami horses. I am not sure if she has posted photos but here is a picture of one on sale at Bloomingdales. It looks like they are over 5" tall!

I would love to see some of your photos if you have ever made origami horses yourself
So interesting! When I have some time, I will go dig around in the garage for the box of origami ornaments I made a show a few. :)

Dear MYH!
Today I felt like I really needed one of those "escapes out of reality" moments, and just like you write on your post, I leaped into the PF to indulge. AND I must say I had this exact thread as my goal! I have been willing to catch up on you for some weeks now, and today was just the right moment! Imagine my delight when I found not only so many wonderful and entertaining stories and pictures, but also you finding "my" avatar!
Thank You for this "great escape"... now I will be going back "out there" feeling much better =)
And major congrats on your Cocottes! I know just how hard to find this one is... and you scored such an unusual cw... wow!!!
Silky hugs!
P.
Pegase - you know, I never took a close look at your avatar. I think I assumed it was a hand painted tray or something. But now I see! Yes ! Yes! you were the original person to find this beautiful piece of work. And I'm so flattered you consider this thread a "destination thread" on tpf. That is such a great compliment.

LOL - this thread needs to now be rated X - no approved for all audiences. I loved the pic of your topless lady in your scarf. If I were you, I would totally try to fold it so she shows!

I'm totally flattered you like my twilly storage idea given that I think you have the most beautiful piece of furniture for scarf storage. I wonder if I could find a wooden box with the same compartments. That would make it way more pretty and special.

Love your origami tree and the idea for twilly! You are really a creative lady! I gonna try the origami idea this Christmas. I think I still have boxes of paper somewhere. :p
Yes please do!! It takes a little bit of patience but the payoff is well worth it.

Awwwww....thanks. It's so nice of you to take the time to write in and encourage me to keep posting. The "likes" are great, but a written response is even better.

I second that, @j3nl! @MYH has great, inspiring ideas and a terrific writing style. As a new H scarf collector, I have found this thread incredibly valuable and a great resource.
So I'm curious honey - which scarves are on your short list to collect? Of course I understand if you don't want to disclose -but I'm interested to see what new scarf collectors are lusting after? The same ones we "moldy oldies" like or new ones?

Circling back to origami - my Cocottes scarf - seems like there are many of us here that have a "thing" for origami. How wonderful!!! It's still to hot where I live to wear scarves - it was 90 degree F yesterday. No kidding.

So at the moment, I can only plan on what accessories and tops I will wear with my new cocottes scarf. Taking a cue from the colors in this scarf, I thought Malachite/Mustard/Blue would look nice together. So I busted out my malachite kelly and some mustard accessories and came up with this. Also, the beauty of this scarf isn't just the design in the middle but also the contrast hem and graphic border edge. The edges of a scarf are so important. And also, back in 2009 - I don't think Hermes did too many contrast hems so I think this one is really special. I love that sea-green color of the hem. These days - contrast hems are almost a given.
And Depending on how I tie the scarf, I may or may not wear a necklace. But I threw all my accessories into this photo as options.

To me, the beauty of blues and greens is that the shade of your top does not have to match exactly. For some colors, like red, it's quite hard to get different reds to work together because some are more orangey, blue, purpley, etc. But with blues and greens - just mix them all together and it's generally ok. In the following pics, I'm wearing a navy top, a teal top, and a medium blue top. I think they all
work.

Sorry in advance for the huge pics to come. I still haven't figured out how to make them smaller.

This is me trying Nicole's accordion pleating technique. I think I still need a lot of practice.

Hi, dear @MYH! I don't have any that I'm particularly going ga ga over. As a new collector, I am trying to find colors that flatter myself and my wardrobe and because I like animals, food and funny and whimsical designs, anything with these themes is good for me. In addition, you guys are a huge inspiration! I picked up a cool Au Pays des Epices on TheRealReal.com and it's gorgeeous (despite what appears to be a small ink stain on the back  that wasn't noted in the description and I'm wondering if it's worth taking to the dry cleaners). I can't believe what a cool scarf it is. I also have the Bateau Fleuri because the colors are just outstanding (gold/blue/orange) and really perfect for fall and my fairly monotone fall/winter wardrobe. I first saw it on Miss @Pocketbook Pup and it looked fantastic on her.

I do not consider you guys "moldy oldies!" More like, H goddesses to look up to and learn from.

I picked up the beautiful Sous le Cedre the other evening that you so lovingly profiled in this thread, @MYH, so I hope it looks as awesome on me as it does on you. Again, thank you for all of the help and guidance. Wouldn't have made it this far without reading everything everyone has to offer in this thread. I love the stories and the photos.

Beautiful blues and greens! Is the origami style charm a petite H find? How perfect.
I am looking forward to seeing more of your own origami creations when you dig them out.
I completely agree about the contrasting borders! Well said :) And I think you tied it beautifully!

What a great start. I love the Au Paysd des Epices you got. It looks really nice on you. Just a thought - if you want to keep the scarf, you could go back to the seller and say you would like a partial refund for the undisclosed stain on the back. And apply the money to getting it dry cleaned. And that's if it even comes out.

And yes - PbP is a great enabler! almost everything looks fantastic on her. My little sis also has that design and cw. Which cw of Sous le Cedre did you get? I think they are all gorgeous so you can't really go wrong.

Thanks for your modeling photos!!:heart::heart:

Hi Nicole0612 - the origami bagcharm is not a Petit H item. I actually made it myself. OK, maybe this weekend, I will find some time to find the ornaments in my garage. Stay tuned.

Thank you, @MYH!

Yes, I went back to TheRealReal.com and complained and they gave me a $25 credit, which was nice of them. I will apply that cost to the dry cleaners. Heh! If I decide to take it to the dry cleaners. I'm worried they will ruin or lose it.

I managed to find the orange/navy CW you have. I don't have it in hand yet as its being shipped from Japan. I have another one that I will tell you about soon as soon I get in it in hand that has animals on it. I'm glad your little sis decided that the Bateau is a good one too.

No more shopping for me. I am banning myself and saving up for the holidays. I just bought the Mors ring yesterday and I. Am. Done. (for now)

That's not just any ordinary half naked lady it is Apsara you know the status on the wall of Ankor Wat Temple. In Khmer culture Apsara is angel or goddess. Now I have another level of respect for Hermes.

Hi Cygne18 - I am an 'advocate of hand wash' for my silks  .. maybe you can do a search around here for ideas/guidance. Personally the stains I came across are usually makeup e.g. foundations or powder and these came off easily.
Enjoy your new Epices, I have mine in a frame and given to my DIL for her dining area.
