I've been searching for the perfect red for a loooooong time. I don't really like my bags to attract attention and feel uncomfortable when they do. I guess it's kind of akin to shying away from buying red sportscars. But I craved red! ❤️❤️❤️ I wear a lot of neutrals and sometimes, I wished I had a nice casual jewel toned red bag to give my outfit some oomph! Wearing a grey top, black pants, and carrying a Gris T or Navy bag is even a bit too neutral for me lol. I got close a couple times to buying a pre-owned rouge casaque but couldn't pull the trigger. But then...in true H fashion, she popped up. And here's the hilarious enabling story that goes with my new purchase.

I have a friend that lives nearby that is also a H enthusiast. We both love the Picotin. And we both agree, the MM size is the best for our lifestyles. I think it's safe to say we both stalk H.com on a daily basis to look for them. So one day, I get a text from her. Black MM Pico is available on H.com. I go and take a look but decide it's too close to my Blue Indigo one. Ok, we both pass (she already has a black one). Then the next day, I see a gold MM. I text her. I already have a gold Kelly so I pass because I don't want to duplicate colors (gris t is the exception  to this rule). She buys it. Enabling act 1 completed. :graucho: Then the next day, she texts me and says there are 4 colors on H.com! Say what? I'm ashamed to say I'm babysitting my 6 yr old niece at the time and we're at the mall buying Legos and I have to tell her "auntie has some business she has to take care of on her phone. I need to go find a bench for us to sit down and take care of it". Thank goodness she has her new Lego set to preoccupy her while I'm frantically trying to get H.com to load on my phone. There are 4 colors! Grey, black, rouge grenat, gold. Then in panic mode...I revert to my comfort zone. I go for the grey because I'm a neutral bag girl at heart and think it might be Gris Mouette. But the rouge one is catching my eye...but I'm trying to be good and not buy 2 bags. So I check out with my grey Pico and go home with my niece. Enabling Act 2 Completed. But that gorgy rouge is pulling on my heartstrings...and as you all know...resistance is futile. So when I get home, I buy the rouge one too. :panic:Enabling Act 3 Completed. Then my friend texts me saying she went back a few hours later and tried to buy the grey one too but it's already gone. And since she already has a bolide in rouge, she will pass on the rouge. I feel kinda bad for her that she wasn't able to snag a grey one too.

Fast forward to delivery day. Two huge boxes arrive! :yahoo: I tear into both and first one out is the grey. it's etain, not Gris Mouette, but it's still gorgeous. Second one out...rouge grenat...and it's everything I wanted it to be. Red without pink tones and a nice deep jewel toned red that's not too dark. I'm prancing around the house with one on each arm unable to believe my luck that I found two at the same time on H.com. For those that hunt picos, you know that the MM size is hard to come by. But then I go into my closet and take a look at all the neutral bags I already have. Do I really need another one? So after some careful deliberation...I text my friend. Does she still want a grey Pico? The answer is yes! Perfect....miss etain will go to her. I'll keep miss Grenat. And that my friends is enabling at its best.:lol::lol:

And of course...beauty shots. I couldn't quite capture the Grenat in this first photo - it's too cherry red but I love the "modern photography" too much not to share. This photo is called "Pico Party". The second photo is her true color. ❤️

Congratulations! I remember the day those four Picos were on H.com! It was exciting. Good for you for getting two of them! I love your red Pico and also the way you styled it with the charms and twilly. Great color choices! The grey Etain Pico is also lovely - I recall seeing one IRL in Vegas. You were good to help your friend :biggrin::biggrin:

I knew red was missing from your collection and i am so glad that you finally bought one.

Gosh golly everyone! Thank you for the warm welcome back. :flowers::flowers::flowers:

Welcome back! Photo looks great. I wonder who the new addition is...
I'm sure you already knew!
Welcome back! Photos look good on my iPhone
Thank you luv for encouraging me to come back.

Yay!!! You're back!!!!!

Great story, how wonderfully it worked out for both of you....love that red, it will be the perfect thing to add panache to your neutral outfits
Thanks Kate. Your beautiful red roulis is also seared into my brain.

Love the story! The rouge grenat is the perfect red. I saw lots of people love rouge casaque but it's too bright for me. Grenat is just decent. I can imagine wearing clothing in neutral tone with that red bag. Very sophisticated!
Also the feather charm matches your twilly very well. Btw, wish your friend enjoying the etain pico as well. :flowers:
Thanks Mimi! Happy to hear you liked the story. Yes, my friend has ended up with 2 picos and I have 1. I feel like I saved a bunch of $$$ LOL. And thanks for the compliment on the feather charm.

She's beautiful! Love your story too. I hope you both wear them in the best of health. :hugs:

PS - I had always thought another pop of color (red or pink) would be good for your bag wardrobe - so glad you got one!
Thanks K! It's funny that we all know each other's bag collections and know what colors would fill a gap. I am now on the hunt for red scarves and bracelets.

What a beauty![emoji7]
 Thank you.
What a fun pic and congrats on your new pico MYH!
Awww...thanks Gnippohs.

Love the color of your new MM Pico!
 I could not resist this red. Thank you for the nice compliment.

Yay! You are back!!! And with a bang too[emoji8][emoji8]... What an amazing story and bag! I love picotins and rouge grenat... Put them together you have a winning combination! You will find this red so easy to wear dear MYH!... So happy that the etain pico got a loving mommy too! I have a weakness for etain[emoji173]️[emoji173]️.... But I think you made the right choice. The red is a perfect addition to your already fabulous collection!
Darling - I've missed you! Thank you for the warm welcome back. I saw your beautiful RG roulis. And the calvacadour dip dye that goes with it. I am on the hunt for that 140cm now because of you!

I knew red was missing from your collection and i am so glad that you finally bought one.
LOL! We all know each other's collections too well. Yes, red was missing! I couldn't stand it any longer. And a little picotin is easy and fun and not too serious so it's perfect for me.

It's perfect dear, I am super happy for you and that you are back! Great photos too.
Aw thanks Lanit. So happy to be back. I'm happy you like the photos. :p

Happy Sunday everyone! DH and I are spending a lazy day around the house and I thought now would be the perfect time to update this thread.

I have something new to share and the story behind it is SO special. I recently made a new friend, another H enthusiast, on the internet of all places. I know...it sounds slightly dangerous but don't worry - we communicated back and forth for a very long time and the first time we met was in a public place. It's a bit like dating but not with another man, with another H collector! LOL! She is the lady that was in Picotin cohoots with me and I went to her house yesterday to deliver her new etain baby. We had set up a H closet playdate and when I went to her house, I found that she had spread out about 50 scarves and shawls for me to play with. Seriously, H heaven.:loveeyes::loveeyes: She has all the grails...exLenK shawl, classic ex Libris in black and oatmeal shawl, the Damier shawl, and scarves and twillies going back years and years. I saw twillies I didn't even know were made in a certain design. And the scarves she had put out...they are only a very small subset of her collection. Faint!!!

My eyes were immediately drawn to the scarves that had a lot of red/ruby/dark red because as you know....I'm now on the hunt for accessories for my rouge grenat picotin. She had the red/fuchsia cw of coupons indiens. Loved it! So as I was gleefully playing with her silks, she says to me....oh I have a scarf that you might like. It's Voyage en Etoffes in the red cw. Really? I'm so intrigued. I have always loved the idea of a scarf with different kimonos on it. And I have seen this design listed on evilbay in various cws but it's an Annie Faivre, and her scarves are beautiful but very detailed and the beauty of her designs are hard to capture in a photo. Really, when you stand back and take a photo of the entire scarf, the beauty is lost because the details become very small and it somehow kind of becomes a series of swirls and patterns that meld together. So she disappears into her scarf vault and comes out with this beauty!! I know...this picture does not do it justice. But do you see what I mean about the details being lost? Also, I'm sorry about the black bars on top and below my photos. The only way I can get my photos to load is to take a screenshot of them on my phone because I get a message saying the files are too big for the server. Does anyone know how to change the settings on an iPhone so the photos taken are a smaller file size?
