Scarves MYH's Scarf Showcase - and philosophical ramblings about how I built my collection

I hope everyone has had fun twisting and braiding. So guess what? It works with maxi twillies too. The only thing I do different is when you get to the end, take the two tails and wrap around the loop in opposite directions. Now instead of tying a knot with both tails, take just one tail and tie a knot just with the one tail. Then slide the other tail through the knot you just made. This reduces the bulk of the knot at the end and both tails will hang nicely in the same direction. I hope this makes sense? Let me know if I need to further explain. Here's a photo of my MT tied this way.

MYH - you are so creative! I pulled out my MT this morning and gave the rope braiding a whirl. It worked great! I'm going to wear it today.

Also, I wanted to thank you for the 'be brave & wash' discussion that was covered earlier in this thread. I was at my favorite consignment shop yesterday and they had a gorgeous Tibet scarf. It had a small stain that looked like grease....and it looked like the owner had worn it exactly once because it was still stiff and had the original fold creases. I thought....hey, I know what to do here! So I got it for a good price (after pointing out the stain) and took the risk. I got it home, poured some Laundress detergent right on the stain and voila! It looks perfect now. :)

MYH, I totally blame this thread for the gorgeous MT I just bought ;) Brazil cw26 (noir/vert/violet) is my first MT (probably not my last)

Now I'm going to need to go through the whole thread looking for knot ideas :)

@MYH Wow!! Love everything in this photo! I thought braiding only worked with mousselines. Good that we can wear maxi twillies this way, too. Thank you for this inspired idea. :hbeat:

@Bostonjetset, thank you for the great advice! I will make peace with the "artsy" scarves and have a place for a few, just like you.

Thank you Litchi. Please do take a photo and show us if you try this braided look out!

This is a very creative way to wear MT. I love MT but always had hard time handling it. Gonna try the braid! Thank you for sharing and your picture looks gorgeous as usual.
Yes, it's a good way to "tame" a MT! LOL.

Ah congrats! What a wonderful find, a Tibet scarf that is now stain-free. So happy this thread helped you.

Is twice in one week too much? :giggle: (Millefleurs cw 09 ciel/jaune/vert d'eau)

Sorry Melora! It's so good to see you back and posting. Congrats on your new Brazil MT. The cw you bought sounds right up my alley.

Thanks! I'll have to post it on the SOTD thread, or on the MT thread, or here. As soon as I tried a MT I understood why everybody likes that format, and when I saw this cw, I was instantly in love!

I must confess the new tpf has kept me away because I cannot figure out how to make my photos smaller without going through a whole resizing exercise. I really don't want to post a gigantic photo of my chest when modeling a scarf. But I have missed you all so much and have some non-chest photos to share. So I thought I would test different devices (phone, iPad, computer) and see if I can get my photos to post smaller.
