Update: I haven't been using the gel for the past 4 days, and I'm STILL breaking out, worse than ever! Plus, my bf is getting cystic acne. The only things we have been using together is the Burt's Bees cleanser like I mentioned, so I'm ABSOLUTELY blaming the cleanser (not the gel!) for the breakout. I actually got so curious that I looked up reviews on the Burt's Bees cleanser and sure enough, many people are breaking out from it.

So yes, no more Burt's and I'm going to start using Monistat again (as well as the Dermalogica cleanser...a true breakout remedy!)

If you want, you can try Mario Badescu too! Absolutely great for acne..your BF can try it too. The buffering lotion will be great for cystic acne.

I guess it is true that Burt's Bees tends to cause break outs. I heard it, but didn't know if it was just a handful of people. If a lot of people are breaking out I would definitely not pick it up! I hate products that cause more acne. :( I hope it's not the monistat!!

Have you been using Monistat everyday, fc? I can't wait to start using it again tomorrow morning! I got a new Chanel foundation, too, so I'm excited to try out the duo!

You're going to convince me to buy Mario Badescu! I think I stumbled on a thread about it a while back. Is the buffering lotion only good for cystic acne? What else do you recommend? I don't really get acne, but the Burt's did a number on me!

I use it on most days, but not everyday because I haven't had it for that long and I just got back from camping. Who cares about primers when you're camping..hehe.

Hehe I am an advertiser! The buffering lotion would probably work for other types of acne too, it's just specified towards cystic acne on his website. I use the drying lotion for breakouts and it makes them go away really fast.

Drying lotion. Will remember it . I may pick up the Buffering Lotion for my bf. I say "may" since he gets frustrated whenever he gets cystic acne and he PICKS IT TO DEATH! AHHHHH! BUT -- for some reason that seems to solve the problem for him and he's left with clear skin when it heals. NOT FAIR.

Did you have fun camping? I can't wait to go! I asked about the primer because I'm so curious how you and everyone else are doing with the gel. Love this stuff.

Dang I am such a freakin enabler, it's insane. LMAO. I think it would really help the cysts to go away quicker and hopefully he will stop picking at it. That is totally not fair that he doesn't scar!! Not fair, not fair :(

Yes it was quite fun! The weather was amazing at the beach and we had lots of fun with our friends. I missed my makeup, no doubt. :p The primer is treating me well and I think I'm having a love affair with it. I haven't been too faithful to my MAC stuff lately. I recommend the Monistat far more than mac these days. Oh no!

alright, going to pick some up later today.. i really hope it doesnt make me break out. i have bad bad skin and break out from every little thing. going to try it out before i leave the house to celebrate our anniversary. will come back to review and let you know if it held up with all the activity in the day!!

where can I get this Mario Badescu buffering lotion?

Thanks

I bought this in March and couldn't remember why until now :p I tried this yesterday. A teeny tiny amount. It was about 85 degrees and super humid in NYC and I was outside with kids most of the day. I was totally matte all day!! I am floored. I've never had this happen with any primer ever. I didn't have to blot or powder or anything. This is perfect for a low maintenance girl like myself:heart:

Oh now this sounds interesting and definitely worth a try! I will head to CVS this weekend and try it out. It is so hot and humid here, my make up comes off as soon as I walk out my door and before I get into my car. Bleh!
