Monistat chafing gel as a face primer?

so I've been reading up on it forever and everyone's positive reviews finally made me get it. I haven't tried a primer before but I figured before I drop some serious cash on the pricer brands I'll try this one out. I got mine at CVS (There were coupons for $2.00 which actually made it cheaper than the generic brand) for $5 and I tried it and I've seen SUUUCHH a difference. It worked SOO well. My make up went on much more easily and my make up stays all day even with my oily skin. I only had to blot ONCE all day which is unheard of before. I personally haven't had any problems with breaking out or any other skin issues but that may just be me. It's become a total staple in my beauty routine and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT.

My Walmart doesn't carry this. I don't have a CVS nearby.

Where else have you ladies been picking this up?

I really want to try it but I don't want to have to order online and pay an extra $5 for shipping and order from drugstore.com.

Try amazon! You can buy it in packs of 3 and some people buy 2 packs of the 3 (total of 6) since you get free shipping for purchases over $25 I think? Also the price per bottle on amazon is cheaper than at Walmart, etc.

I read that from the review site I posted earlier.

^^ yeah i kinda wanted to just try one before buying so many LOL.

My skin isn't too oily so I don't want this to make me too matte. So if it does, it would suck to be stuck with so many.

I am going to check walgreens tomorrow and hope I can find some there.

LOL that's true. Oops! I'm just in love with this, so I would buy it in 3 packs! Haha. On the site, it says if you use it everyday, a tube will last you about a month?? I will probably just use this on my forehead/nose everyday..so how long do you think it would last, ladies?

^ 2-3 months maybe?

I got a manufacturers coupon for $2 off in one of my magazines this month, and the grocery store where I got it had a $1 off instant rebate, so it ended up being really cheap for me!!

Ok. I have some zittage this morning. I think it's probably from the MAC foundation they put on me in the class last night (fingers crossed).

Where the heck's the MB Drying Lotion when you need it?

Ok, so I'm trying it again today with a different foundation. Instead of Laura Mercier Silk Creme, I'm using Chanel Pro Lumiere. My skin looks FLAWLESS with the Chanel today! I definitely like the Chanel more than my LM by itself, but I like it even more with the Monistat!

I'll pray for you too, peach!! Hmm I really hope it's not the monistat. It's a miracle product! I've heard several people break out after using Burt's Bees though..so maybe you are reacting to the cleanser. :shrugs:

I always react to new cleansers and face soaps at first.

THANK YOU! That's good to hear. The "breakout" I'm having is really not that bad -- they're just a whitehead that I got rid of once I did a mask. I'm being masochistic and putting on Monistat yet again today. I'll keep you updated on my zit diary.

OH NO! I hope it's the MAC, too. I'm blaming everything BUT the Monistat! I'm reluctant to admit defeat.

ME TOO! I really, really think it's the MAC, because this zittage is MB Buffering Lotion and Drying Lotion worthy and I haven't seen any of those in a while. It could also be stress which I am experiencing exorbitant amounts of lately. Don't really think its the chafing gel.

I will keep an eye on it.

Ooh good luck you two!!! Praying for you both :hugs: ;)

I'm really not liking MAC foundations anymore. I liked my mineralized liquid foundation but it feels so thick for some reason. I am going to mix it with moisturizer and see if that helps. For now I am sticking with Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer. I think I'm going to run out soon, after that I'll start using mineral foundation. It will be my first time!

I hope this primer lasts a long time for me. It's not a huge deal if it doesn't, but that's another reason to love it :D

MAC foundations are no good for me. I've tried multiple times. It's a no go. I was so sad when she asked me to take off my own make up. Of course it would make no sense for her to demonstrate on my already made up face. LOL.
I'll tell ya though, my original make up looked damn good. I never did have to blot yesterday at work (go CG! <-- Chafing Gel).

I looked good after too, but for some reason, I see more of my imprefections (bumps) on my face when I wear MAC. Even their primer didn't help. I should have told them about the CG! LOL!
