Monistat chafing gel as a face primer?

Apparently Canadian women don't chafe because I can't find Monistat anywhere. Do you think Wellskin Barriere Silicone Skin Cream will work? It's 20% silicone - no other ingredients are listed. I saw it in the baby care section of Shoppers.

I know Shopper's Drug Mart and Safeway both carry it as I have purchased this item from both stores.

It should be on the feminine hygiene aisle...

the Canadian packaging is different from the US one as the Canadian version is completely boxed in (does that make sense??) as compared to the US version where you can see the tube from outside.

I tried this and I have to say...I used it for about a week and I realized that my face was getting small bumps around my jawline and the sides of my forehead and cheeks.

What baffled me if that the areas of my face where I have slightly larger pores (nose and cheeks) did not get clogged. The parts of my face where I cannot see any pores became clogged.

I will probably try just using this on my nose and cheeks and see how it goes. I will definitely not be using this on my whole face.

So, from my personal experience...I would recommend that this only be used on areas of the face with larger pores that are slightly oily.

*Oh and I should mention that I do wash my make up off thoroughly every night....and I still got clogged up.

The silicones are occlusive and act like cling wrap on the skin, so what would come out normally, sebum, is trapped in there and that's what forms the little bumps and the congested pores. My dermatologist took me off silicones, and it has made a huge difference in my skin, unfortunately, it's in *a lot* of makeup, primers, foundations, lotions etc. I am not saying that it is going to be a problem for everyone, but it is for me and this is why. Lucky ladies who do not have these issues!

Yup i've seen it at Shoppers Drug Mart here in Toronto and got mine from Wal-Mart. I think i need to stock up on another tube! Love this stuff!

Shoppers Drug Mart here had them on clearence from $10.99 each to $3.00! I grabbed them all! One box for me and the rest for a mkae-up artist friend who was going nuts trying to find this stuff. I also checked Wal-Mart this morning and didn't see any! I hope they are not discontinuing them in Canada!
