Monistat chafing gel as a face primer?

Since we're being off-topic and talking about water (oops, my fault I brought it up!) I drank a glass of orange juice and already downed three 18 oz. water bottles. It's my pretty breast cancer water bottle :p This is a lot for me since it's only 2 and I haven't been playing any hardcore tennis or volleyball. Just been lazing around reading and checking the forum. :D

Now onto the chafing gel, last night when I washed my makeup off, my skin was still mostly matte. My skin between my brows and above the brows looked a bit dewy and my nose was not oily at all.

Yep same for me. A little dewy. I don't actually get what I'd call completely matte. That look isn't for me anyway, so I don't complain. I am loving this stuff. Totally forgot I was going to try it with the EM. Maybe tomorrow.

So excited I read this thread! Coincidence -- just last night when I was cleaning out some stuff in my bathroom cupboards, I came across a brand new box of the Monistat chafing gel and couldn't figure out WHY I had bought it. :confused1: I must've read this on MUA or another makeup forum because that IS why I bought it -- to try as a primer. I totally forgot about it! :shame:

I also threw it out so now I'll have to buy another one to try. :p

I put it on today for the first time this morning at 7:30am, and 9 hours later, it's still looking good! I DID get oily, but my foundation is staying on more than usual and it looks even! Should I put more on so that I don't get oily? I love that it's so lightweight!

I just got back from walmart looking for this and they didn't have it!

They only carried Monistat antifungal stuff LOL.

Is this product located next to the KY and regular Monistat stuff?

That is where I was looking for it but I had no luck! :confused1:

Ok, so I washed my face after my last post and I found 3 whiteheads on my jawline! AHHH! I'm wondering if I'm breaking out from the Monistat :(. I can't really tell because I just started using this Burt's Bees Deep Cleanser and I feel like it's bringing out impurities to the surface. My bf has been using it with me and he's "breaking out" too. (And no, he's not trying out the primer with me :p.) I'm hoping it's just the initial reaction from the cleanser (like I have with many new skincare products) and not the Monistat gel! How's everyone doing with it?

Yup, it should be there! The tube is smaller than it looks, so you might want to go check again. It's with all the other vaginal goodies, if I could call them that.

All right girls. After exfoliating with my Volcanic Ash Exfoliator last night I woke up this morning with (a smooooothe face) and full intentions to get it on with the Chafing Gel and my Mineral Make Up.

So after my daily Dermalogica regimen I put a pea sized amount all over my face, concentrating on areas that tend to get oiler throughout the day. Using my EM Flat Top brush I buffed two layers of my foundation into my skin and spritzed with Reviva Rosewater Toner to set. <-- It adds just the remaining bit of help I need to make my Mineral Make up look flawless. I probably didnt' even need it. The Chafing Gel really does make a good smoothe surface for the minerals.

So far, so good. I am actually a bit more matte than is my personal preference, but I'm sure that as the day wears on I'll get a teeny bit dewy. I'm willing to bet I won't have to blot today at all.

I'll keep you all posted.

Jen, just use it for the oil-control properties, LOL. Like when you go on vacation and you don't feel like bringing loose powder to blot or something..this is a lot easier because you can just apply with clean hands.

MissTiss, I'm betting you don't have to blot all day either! Too bad I got a huge stash of elf blotting sheets a few months ago. I have so many packets it's insane. Good to have though..and it's only $1! If you want to be dewy, you will love the way you look at the end of the day. I was a bit dewy and my skin looked pretty glowy. :D

So far so good. Not an oilie in sight. I'm still really matte actually. This is weird. Never, ever happens. I wonder what will happen if I skip the EM silk dust tomorrow. That's a definite mattifier for me too. I'm a little too matte for my tastes.

This is so fun experimenting like this. And no weird zittage (al la the case of Shimma and the aspirin mask -- I'm adding that to the Beauty Bar Dictionary).

Oh I know what you mean, it looks a tad unnatural to be too matte. I wonder if Fix+ would help with that. I'll try that tomorrow. I'm staying home all day today (boooo!) so no makeup for me. My mom doesn't like me wearing makeup when I'm home all day. I do play around with e/s though.

Hehe, zittage!! Shimma is so funny (and wise!). I would love to see the beauty bar dictionary..maybe it could be one of the stickied threads?

I'm serious! Got to get a list together. :wlae:

I've got yet another whitehead! It's freaking me out. Like I mentioned before, I think it's the cleanser my bf and I started using together since we both got a zit in the same area. It's freaking me out though! I'm still gonna keep using the Monistat and see if it's really it. I'm praying to the makeup gods!! On the cleanser side, though, I think I'll stick to my Dermalogica!

I start out super matte in the morning, but my face fixes that in about 3-4 hours. I like that I get dewy and not an oil pool!

I'll pray for you too, peach!! Hmm I really hope it's not the monistat. It's a miracle product! I've heard several people break out after using Burt's Bees though..so maybe you are reacting to the cleanser. :shrugs:
