Monistat chafing gel as a face primer?

I've used smashbox, clarins and mac primers, but i swear my face has never looked better when i used the monistat gel. I have oily, uneven skin and boy did it make a difference that even my BF noticed. It really smoothed out the texture of my skin and made my makeup application look flawless. It was over 100 degrees outside and I still looked great through the night; looking nice and matte. I am def sold. Even if this product was surpassed prices of the cosmetic products, I'd choose this. Well, so far no breakouts *cross fingers*

I finally tried it today!

It went on very slippery and silicone-y (which I don't like because I hate silicone), but it dried silky smooth within about 10 seconds.. thank goodness!! I used the Sally Hansen Carmindy foundation with it and it went on very smooth, but at first it looked kind of unnaturallY matte IMO. It stayed looking lovely, but it felt a little heavy on. I had that feeling all day like there was stuff in my pores, and I hate that. Maybe it was psychological because I knew I had Monistat on my face :p or maybe the foundation is just a little too heavy for summertime. It wasn't bad though. I think I just REALLY prefer a creamier primer as opposed to a silicone gel one.

I'm not giving up though. I'm going to try it again with mineral foundation another day and see how it goes!

Do you think you put too much on? I never really look matte after, Im just not oily anymore lol. But then again, I use powder foundation, not liquid.

Anyway, keep us updated with the mineral foundation!

I would definitely try it with a different foundation. I'm glad you told about the Carmindy one, I have really been wanting to try that, the MUA reviews are all over the map, but I am still curious.

I have been using nothing but Maybelline Age Rewind for years, but I have to mix it with L'Oreal HIP to cut the pink and the "moisture," how is the Carmindy one color-wise? Somebody on MUA described one of the shades as "gray," which did not suit her at all, but it really made me perk up.

I'm thinking you might have used to much?? Don't know...I know I didn't use enough the first time I had a tiny bit of oil at the end of the day. I just chalked it up to being glowy. LOL! The second time was perfect. I just used a pea sized amount. Rubbed it on my finger tips and applied...

How much is everyone else using?

The color is actually okay for me... Going from light to dark, my I usually need the 2nd to 4th warm color, depending on how many shades a brand carries. I bought it in Ecru Beige and it's just the tiniest bit too pale. To get an absolutely perfect match, I'd probably have to buy the next darker one and mix them together.

The foundation leaves a nice dewy finish and it looks really natural, but it's heavy. I feel like it just sits on my face and doesn't really blend in (with or without primer). I don't have oily skin, so it looks fine, but it makes me feel greasy. I think it would be good for dry skin or as a winter foundation, though.

Yay! I finally got it! I haven't tried it yet because I was in a rush today but I will try it out tomorrow.

Feminine products like pads and tampons aren't embarrassing to me at all, in fact, in high school I walked down the hallways with one stuck on my handbag just to see the boys' reactions (yes, I was very immature). But that's because every woman needs them and there's nothing gross about an unused tampon or maxipad. Buying monistat would make the cashier think I had a problem with my vah-jay-jay and that's brought my embarassment. But I got past that and bought it anyway.

Hello my makeup lovers :) I got it last night!! About time, huh? :) So I normally would wear my tinted moisturizer and concealer for everyday, but I decided to go with foundation which normally makes my skin more oily than tinted moisturizer. Just wanted to test out the primer to see if it really does keep you matte. I applied foundation (MAC mineralized skin finish) at around 8 AM. It has been more than 5 hours and my skin is completely matte with no oilies!! This is a HG product for me. I will definitely be using this everyday. Thanks to QueenOfDa702 and all the other lovely ladies here for recommending. :yahoo:

Yup!! I finally got it and I am so glad I did. My mom still doesn't understand why I've been jumping around being all excited about this. I told her to get a tube but she refuses to put it on her face. Her skin is like perfectly unoily and she doesn't even need to wear foundation, just wears translucent powders and stuff like that. Not fair :(
