Money is NOT an object...your dream engagement ring...

If money wasn't an option, I still probably wouldn't choose something too ostentatious. I would probably go with a 3 carat Cushion cut halo with a matching band. Or, perhaps a 3 carat Tiffany setting with an eternity band. Something simple and elegant - something classic.

If money is not an object, I would either want a round brilliant Tiffany diamond solitaire between 2 and 3 carats or this:

Although I also like these quite a lot:

This last one is actually similar to a ring I already have (but not my engagement ring).

Wow! I especially like the model with the emerald cut stone. So classic chic, but very special.

I'll keep my teensy round brilliant, it's sentimental to me. Every time I look at it I remember when DH asked me to marry him, 27years ago.

However, I'd take the emerald cut from the post a little bit above. above fora RHR. I always think emerald cuts look so elegant, especially in simple settings.

I also have a secret fondness for large marquise stones, although they are the opposite of emerald cuts. Very ostentatious.

I must have a split personality.

I'm nowhere near getting engaged sadly, but from pictures I've seen, round cuts are very much "me." If money were no object, I still wouldn't want a huge, ostentatious diamond. A solid 3-4 carats, fabulous quality (of course) would be nice. :p
