Here is 21K rectangular mini and 22P square mini side by side. You can see 22P is much more shiny. 22P feels very soft and smooth. 21K feels more sturdy and dry but puffier quilts. They are both made in Italy

Is it harder to get a mini or a small flap in black?
I'm also confused by a store experience I had trying to get a mini and would love to know if this is common. Basically I came in and they offered the small classic flap which was gorgeous, but a bit over my budget right now and I love that the mini can be worn crossbody. Fine, but then I find out that in the inventory the next day that there is a mini available so I reach out about it and they say it is reserved for someone. Is it normal for a mini to be reserved but not a small when I assume there are waitlists for both? They had also said they're not adding more people to the waitlist so it just feels impossible to get. I have called like 50+ stores this week lol please help my heart is breaking fearing the impending price increases

I think the mini is harder to get than the small... Chanel no longer takes waitlist for items in the permanent collection, so that may be why they happen to have a small in stock when you went (minis are considered seasonal).
Edit: woops, just saw I replied to your earlier posts so I'm just repeating myself. Maybe someone else can give a difference experience lol
So if the mini isn't a part of the permanent collection, are they just excluded from waitlists now because they are so popular? It just felt backwards from what I have read on here but I see what you're saying that you just need to basically find a CF vs reserving one. And yes thank you so much haha I have so many questions right now just trying to find one
Because the mini is seasonal, you can get on a waitlist. However from what I found (and what you found it seems), most waitlists are full and aren't taking more names. So you just kind of have to ask around until you find someone willing to help you out. If you have an SA you bought from in the past, it would be better to ask them. If it's full, maybe you can ask if they know when it'll reopen?
You are correct for the CF, you basically just have to find one as they no longer have waitlists for those. I think this is true for all items with the REV code on their tags, so that would include the classic flaps and classic woc (and the reissues?).
Wait list or reserve list policies can vary from boutique to boutique. It is definitely possible to get on one for a mini but some boutiques have been updating their policies where everything is first come first serve. So it really depends whether the list is actually closed because its full, they don't want to help you, or their boutique is following the first come first serve policy.
If you get that excuse from an SA, I suggest asking if they can let you know when it opens up again so you can be added to the list. If they can't help find a new SA that will or stalk the tpf stock thread. Many have had success with that!

However at the same boutique a few weeks later I saw them full of CF's for clients to try on.
I just got a 22P rectangle mini in black as well. The lambskin is very shiny and smooth, but not as soft as other seasons. It does feel sturdy and almost like calfskin. Although when I weighed it, it's 10% lighter than my 30x series mini.
Have you noticed that the LGHW chain is more gold than other seasons? Also less shiny?

What season is your 30 series mini from? I’d be interested to see the HW on your 22P rectangle mini. I have a 21K rectangle mini in black and was surprised at how LESS GOLD the LGHW was but it’s super shiny… so opposite of what you’re seeing lol.
I hate doing this... is it me or does the back pocket look lopsided? This is the 22P mini I posted about earlier. Just received it yesterday.
It looks a little loopsided yes. But since its back pocket, I wouldn't worry too much as long as the front flap is even
The LGHW does seem more gold on my 22p compared to my 22c (which seems almost silver). It is about the same as my friend's mini from earlier in the year (not sure what season, the one before 22c). The shininess is about the same.
I'm actually not sure what season it's from since I bought it preloved. I bet every batch of hardware is different just like how every batch of lambskin is different.
