I kept hearing that black mini rectangulars are hard to get and decided to join the waitlist with a SA. She told me it'd take months (it'd also be lottery) and lots of people wanted it but she literally messaged me 2 weeks later saying she had it available for me. I end up having to pass on the reserve though because I've already bought the beige ombre mini and pink top handle.

Chanel dont make mini in caviar anymore. You can only buy it in lambskin or pay a premium on the resell market for caviar.
sigh. i love the mini bc it's crossbody, but chanel is so overpriced i would only justify it by buying the caviar, since ifeel like that lasts longer. maybe i am just not meant to own a chanel bag :/
Honestly I wear my Chanel bags way more than any other brand so cost per wear is much lower. If you can see yourself using the bag many times for years to come then go for it. Don’t go for something you don’t love or will use much because it’s cheaper.
I think the mini rectangle is the perfect Chanel bag to get in their lambskin leather. I prefer caviar for their larger bags.
If you're okay with it, could I message you to get your SAs information to see about a mini since she has them regularly or learn more about building rapport with my SA? I feel bad messaging her too often and don't fully know what is considered beneficial as I'm still very new to Chanel and building my collection?
Ahh amazing! How is the color of the pink top handle in person? that was another style I was looking at, but was still really hoping for a classic black mini flap. I have been told at least a year to 18 months for it though
I've been waiting a little over a month, but everyone I talk to says a year or 18 month waitlist or "we'll keep an eye out" but then I don't hear anything and am worried they forgot since I'm still pretty new to Chanel. I'm feeling that waitlist pain right now if you have any recommendations?
Are you sure you are on the actual waitlist - as in the SA took your info (name/cc/email) down and confirmed they put you on the list? I have a few SAs say they would keep a look out and tell me if stock comes in, and another who did take my info because they "get them in every week" but then never contacted me back. Only the SA who confirmed my spot on the waitlist ever got back to me. I would not count on anyone who says they will keep an eye out, because that is probably just their generic polite reply.
You can also keep an eye on the stock thread on this forum. Make sure to watch/follow it so that you get email notifications when people post to it. That way you can check as soon as possible what was posted and message the author for SA info. The black minis are kind of rare but they do pop up from time to time. Otherwise if you know you are on a list, it's just a patience game.

The local one near me is small (in a NM) and I feel like they never have stock since I've never managed to buy anything from there.
