Master Craftman's Stamp....a myth?

This is interesting and always good to know.

I am glad I saw this thread because the knowledge I only knew and have from our discussion about the celtic cross (many threads) prior to this thread is that the bag which has the celtic cross stamp was made by the master craftman. The one Kelly I purchased for LZ has a celtic cross and now I am in the processing selling this bag. I mentioned about the celtic cross marking and I also stated as "the bag was made by the master craftman". Yikes..I didn't want to mislead the buyer. I probably need to alter the discription on the bag.:shame:

^^ Don't sweat it Sweetea. I completely fell for the romance of the idea of a master craftsman bag. The idea is so fantastic that I wanted one myself.

excuse my dumbness but what exactly is an atelier mark?
does this info change things, like can a celtic cross still be reconditioned at the spa?

I think the atelier mark just means which workshop it came from. As far as I know, no problems with celtic cross bags being taken in for reconditioning.

I sent my (what i think is) celtic cross to the spa a couple of weeks ago and no problem. In fact, there had better be no problem since i bought it from FSH.
Well I guess it's entirely possible that they are being evasive or that it's just another one of those Hermes myths, but it's still fun!

OK...problem solved. It seems it's just an atelier (workshop) mark. According to an SA I spoke to last night.
Sweetea, I was the same, all excited I had TWO...only to find out all it meant was that the bags had been made in the same location - LOL! your kelly is DIVINE, no matter what! I LOVE that bag, can't believe your selling such a rare beauty!!!!!!!!

Thanks GF for sharing this info. I am intrigued!
I am also intrigued by the bags in your avatar - it seems I missed something ;).

Thanks Darlin'!
I had a BLUE Christmas - LOL - BJ 28 Kelly/Ruth and Thalassa Box 35. No strange atelier marks on either, BUT....the little BJ Kelly was made by the SAME craftsperson that made my beige Kelly! I'm kinda excited by that, for no good reason! LMAO!

Thanks for info GF, there I was dreaming of owning one, good thing you brought this up, I can just see myself at FSH this coming September, ordering one made by the master craftsman & the sea of blank looks that I'll be getting ......it was a lovely myth though....sigh......:shame:

Thanks Darlin'!

Thanks for straightening out a long-held misconception. Heh!

And congratulations on your double-score and what gorgeous bags they are!
