Thanks for your advice! I think if I do see something I like in FSH and it’s a hard to come by product I’ll still go for it! But no major purchase this time - which is also fine so I can save up for the beauty that might show up the second half of the year [emoji6][emoji5]
I would still try at FSH. My wonderful SA always encourages me to buy anything nice that I see when traveling as our home store may not receive this item and he doesn’t want me to miss out.

Yes they do - it goes into a communal sales / commission pool so they don’t get it based on individual sales, but they get it as a group / store based on overall performance. Same with silk sales.

I thought they get indivisual commission on non-quota bags. I thought the group commission is only on silk & accessories. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I may have misheard, but thought my SA said leather goods were group commission as well. Maybe it's a new policy?
That too is my understanding. I could be mistaken but here's how I understand the commission works:
  • Group commission pool - non-quota leather goods including belts and SLG, silks / cashmere, jewelries other than fine jewelries,
  • Individual commission - shoes, home, RTW, fine jewelries and watches (not sure about H Apple watch tho!)
Would love if others can also chime in / let me know if my understanding is incorrect.

Is it not a good thing to email your SA too frequently? I have been recently because I was inquiring about items an item bout which was sent to me from another store was not properly sent. I don’t want to annoy my SA.

I contact my SA as many times as I need to so long as I have a valid business reason to do so. Sometimes 3 times a week cos well , I need my porcelain set. Sometimes ones a month cos I need time to sort out my account and stop swiping my cards like fool. Short answer is it depends...

I am encountering a strange incident at my home store - Madison NYC, I have been a loyal client with SA1 for 1.5 years, spent upwards of $100K in total. I was acquainted with SA2 by chance in early 2018, who assisted me twice while SA1 was out on vacation - a change purse, a scarf, and a wallet, total amounted to approx. $3K.

SA1 submitted my name for SO this season, it's been quite a while so I followed up on the approval, and was told since "I have been shopping with SA2" also, management is reconsidering who I will be working on the SO with, and if in the end I am allocated to SA2, then going forward I will become her client.

This is so baffling to me consider 97% of my purchase was made with SA1 and from Day 1 I had always reached out to this SA for all of my quota + non quota items + my 1st SO late 2017.

FYI SA1 and SA2 are friendly with each other, SA2 is well aware I am SA1's client.

What gives? I'm so confused as to why management would even consider placing me under another SA? the SO request was also made by SA1 so why should SA2 take my order... doesn't each SA have an SO quota per season? Why would I be taking up SA2's quota when she didn't request for me in the first place?

Spend with SA1 = $100K, SA2 = $3K .... what gives?

Very strange. I would consider replying with something such as... "I have very much enjoyed working with you (SA1) over the last X years. You have always provided me with great service and excellent help in acquiring the items that I have been interested in. I would like to continue shopping with you if that is possible. When I shopped with SA2 it was only because you were on vacation and I thought that was the clear understanding. I would feel awful if I had unintentionally caused confusion on this point. Please let me know."

thank you for the advice! I have emailed "casually" to follow up on a couple of things on my wishlist, hopefully I will receive a reply soon and then I can proceed with a chat... will report back!

Very strange... funny how management tend to always butt in and introduce a mess. Hope it resolves itself and they move on. Decision makes no sense at all, unless they're actively trying to get SA2 more clients (ie. help them build a bigger book, diversify the client book across SAs, etc.). Who knows the reasons...

Weird that you would have to do this in the first place... can they not??

Great way to keep it casual. Don't let them know it's bothering you but keep staying with the SA you like and have built the relationship with!

That was my first thought - that the SM was trying to spread out the clients/workload a little.

Just a tip, and I know it’s late now, but when your SA is on vacay, always ask for a manager (or asst. mgr) to help you out and say, I want my SA to get the credit. It reduces the risk of these awkward moments. The manager will ring you up and give your SA on vacay the credit for the sale. I’m guessing SA #2 took the credit for your purchases even if she knows you work with SA #1 who was on vacay.
