I just figured since they have less clients they would have more bags to offer vs. the other ones who already have tons of clients [emoji87]
I'm sure you can try, I find it's the SA who clicks with you that goes all out to fulfill your wishlist. Of course if that happen to be the store/ leather manager/ senior SA, the bag arrives sooner. Just my experience. :amuse:

I'm pretty sure there is a hierarchy. My understanding (in USA stores, at least) is that a shipment comes in and then the Store Manager goes through it with the Sales staff. Each SA basically bids for which bags they want for which clients and they have to make a good case to the Store Manager in order to be approved for offering that bag to that client. So not only are you competing for bags based on your purchase history but there is also an element of dependence on the relationship between the SM and your SA. If one SA has been there forever and hits her salesgoals out of the park every month, then I would imagine the SM would be more likely to give that SA rights to sell a coveted bag over a newbie SA. Honestly, I would never prefer to work with a new SA, but that's just me.

I have recently started shopping in my local store and not shopping online in attempts to get my first bag. I have met a lovely SA who hugs me when I come and go, offers a drink and is very patient with me as I shop. I have emailed her several times and rarely get a response so I end up dropping into the store to "check-in". I've now purchased jewelry, belts, and an avalon III throw. I'm not expecting a bag just yet but she did offer to sit down and go through leathers and colors with me. Is this a good sign that a bag might come over the semester?

I think it is a good sign. Timing wise I cannot say. No one is going to take the time and offer to sit down with you to look at leathers for no reason. ;)

I would just let her know what you want after you go over the leathers and colors and styles. Sounds like she’s working with you towards a bag.

Thank you for clarifying. It might not work exactly like this in my store, but it makes perfect sense.

Well that sucks. I can’t hop around SAs. Big no no I hear. I’ve asked around the store and apparently the two sales supervisors have only been there for a little over a year. She’s at seven months. So hopefully soon she’ll be a supervisor too. Maybe there’s a high turn over rate. At what point do you think is good to bring up wanting a b/k? Do you know if belts count towards b/k?

Everything counts. Not in the sense of spending a magical number, but in terms of building a relationship where your SA learns what you’re drawn to and gets to know your style. The stronger that exchange becomes, the better your chances of a bag offer are. Your SA wants to know you’ll be around after the big “score.” In my experience, any purchase was a chance to demonstrate my opinions on style, color, integration into my wardrobe etc. This naturally leads to all kinds of discussions [emoji4]

It has much more to do with your sales history and relationship with the SA then it does the SAs title. Yes, there’s a hierarchy with the staff but a new SA can bring in their own clients from a previous job in the area, I’ve seen this at my store.

Belts, other bags, fashion jewelry etc are all part of your profile but not as helpful as other categories like RTW or fine jewelry. I personally would never ask for a bag, I waited to be offered and was patient and kind and I got exactly what I wanted. I also continue to shop even though I’m not looking for a bag at the moment.

If anyone doesn’t want to play the game, there are plenty of bags out on the resale market you can buy with a few clicks.

Going by the Hermes courting game - Perhaps it is. Perhaps it isn’t. I wouldn’t read too much into the SA’s gestures at this point in time just to avoid to disappointment. You can Pace yourself and only buy why you love. I say that because it’s a bit early in the semester and pacing yourself will most likely yield the same outcome of being offered a bag before the next semester. You are on her radar with god knows? 50 other clients? Yeah...it will come . Glad you found an SA you like...that’s usually a start to a great outcome

I’ve bought three new bags off of notable resellers last year. I figured since I’m no longer in a rush this year I can just take my time and use that money towards establishing a relationship.

How long did it take you to be offered a bag?

Does the gold and silver Chaine d'Ancre earrings, very small model count as fine jewelry? Or only the items with diamonds are considered so?

Thanks.
