Yes, that’s a way too. You’re right - one week might not be such a long period of time. And he is quite nice to me, when I shop. I was just wondering why he mentioned the QB, when there was nothing. If I should take it personal…
Please don’t over worry. It happens on a daily basis that SAs need to fight for their clients to get the QB. Sometimes they win, sometimes they lose.

My SAs always talking to me about QBs and non QBs. Sometimes they told me I am in the q number 100+ or 200+. The next moment, I am number 2. Then before I know it, I am being offered the bag. Other times I waited many more months than initially promised. So much so that I might get it only next year.

And please please please please please do not think that if one spend more, one can get the dream bag faster. If there is no stock, there is no stock.

Moreover, seriously, unless one buys a couple of pieces of furniture or high jewellery, there is almost no way that one can make a dent in the ocean. Not even immediately, if one puts in the order for furniture or high jewellery unless they are ready stock which is 99.99% not the case.

There is also the celebrity, the royalty, the KOL, the super nice clients who had been patiently waiting for 12, 15 or 18 months, carry on spending regularly and not even demanding about anything….

Just sharing generally as I often see people who keep harping on they are , 2:1, 3:1,….5:1 and not getting any bag ….to a point that I think …this is getting sick.

Hello, does anyone know if it’s okay to give food/desserts for the whole SA team as a holiday gift?
I asked what is an appropriate “gift” to the advisors, and was informed that preferably something shareable for their team.

I’m cautious about it since some may have certain allergies I can’t account for. If I were to buy bulk cookies or chocolates for them I mean.

Definitely agree with you!

Thoughts below:
From what an SA has told me (and this may be common sense) that most people are just looking to buy their bags because of the name and appeal to status.
Depending on the store, I really think the advisors are on the lookout for the curated and knowledgeable customers and it may seem that it’s unfair to those who want to buy to buy, but I think those who really love the brand appreciate the opportunity to be thought of when a bag is offered to them regardless of where it is on the client’s list of dream or want bags.

Though, I haven’t myself tried to buy something as heavy (in the wallet and anxiety inducing as I have pets) as to acquire their furniture or lamps to be able to speak truth about whether this is a good measure for being a person of interest by the advisors and managers. But I would agree that if you’re giving off the “once I get the bag, I’m Gucci” then it’s likely that they may view you as a customer rather than the long term client whom the advisor and/or manager would like to continue to develop a business relationship with you.

Advisors are people and retail is a service oriented industry that can be very demanding. I just aim to be a pleasant experience or provide them a “break” from the demands and aggressions of some customers who feel like a priority; people remember two extremes: the best possible experience and the worst.

TPFers differ substantially in opinion (you can do a search to find a spectrum of those). many here believe it’s not acceptable and they have been told it is contrary to store policy to accept.
i would say it depends on the custom of one’s country, culture, boutique environment, and usual practice. Certainly don’t do it if it could be looked upon as some kind of quid pro quo. I have read that such tokens of appreciation are frowned upon in Paris and possibly other locations in the EU. I personally bake for the holidays and give to many people, including but not limited to a favorite SA. For example, I also give to my tailor, dry cleaner, cobbler and butcher. if I do give anything it is simply as a gesture of good will without significant monetary value that, of course, can be shared. One SA asked for my brownie recipe bc his wife really enjoyed them.

ETA: I would like to emphasize for any reader of the thread that a pan of brownies did not shorten any wait time for a coveted item nor was that the intention

Oh, thank you! I didn’t knew it happens that often. Now I feel somehow calmer. So happy TPF exist!

Hello! I have been building my non-leather "sales profile" to get a QB. I wanted to ask a question. Sorry in advance if these have been asked.

- Does it count if I order something (e.g., tableware) that isn't at the store through my SA? (I ask because I've heard that one of the main goals for the SAs is to sell off everything the manager has acquired that season for the specific store location.)
- I read elsewhere that if I plan to spend 10k (just an example) to get a QB, it's better to do it fast within 3 months, not 12 months (in this case the SA will just forget about me). How true is this?

TIA!!

Try to buy through your SA unless if they request someone else assist you (e.g. my SA was out of town for training, so had her supervisor assist).

Do you only want one bag or will you want to truly maintain a relationship? How much patience do you have? It's really competitive right now, so unless if one has the means to spend 20:1 in one trip, it's not likely one will accelerate the process. If that's not feasible, it's better to buy things you love at a pace you can sustain and be patient (level-set for expectations would be 2-3 years; it may be sooner, but this is for what I'd prepare mentally).

Takes 2-3 years for a QB…? With regular spending? That’s can’t be the new norm…

You should read the thread below to get a better sense of the time and prespend. :) I don’t know where you are located, and for some TPFers, the prespend doesn’t seem to apply. But, in the US, in competitive flagships, the typical prespend ratio for a coveted smaller sized BKC is far more than 1:1 or 2:1. Maybe for 1-2X prespend, a 35B might be available, IDK. There was a shortage of 25B this past year, and regular long-standing clients were naturally picked first. JMO of course, and YMMV.

I should mention this explains why I am still not getting my next QB. I’m in the most competitive Canadian city ever. It’s far more competitive than any other store in the world, and notorious for low stock.

I’m well over 2 years of waiting.

Long standing client of over 5 years.

Lol.

I just want to cry at this point and really just giving up.

I’m really starting to believe that there is no hard and fast rule in terms of getting a QB, like so many here are saying. I’ve been a client for a little over a year, probably only at 1.5:1 prespend on non leather items between DH and myself. I told my SA from the beginning that I’d eventually like a K or B, but made it clear I wasn’t in a rush and that I had other bags and items I was interested in as well. I’ve been fortunate enough that all the other bags I’ve asked for, she was able to pull through, with the exception of my mini Lindy request last Christmas. She honestly told me that they were in such high demand and she didn’t think she could get me one, but would I be ok with a 26 instead. I’ve mainly purchased shoes and silks, some bracelets but not silver or gold. I usually already know what I want before going and send her my list when I make the appointment, and it’s usually then that she will pull out little things from the back like rodeos or new shoes that aren’t on the shelf.

I haven’t really brought up a QB the whole year, and I think she knew she didn’t have to offer me one since I was fine with my other purchases. She probably figured she’d save her offers for bigger clients LOL. So I was very pleasantly surprised when I finally asked for one hopefully by Christmas, a K28 Sellier was readily available. Not in the exact specs I asked for, since retourne was my first choice, but luckily it wasn’t as boxy as I expected. She said if I preferred a retourne she would text me when one became available, but I surprisingly really liked the Sellier, and the 28 size in Gold with GHW was just beautiful, so I happily took it. I also didn’t have any bag in Epsom so it was a nice change.

Now I’m wondering if I could have gotten one sooner had I actually asked for one, or if not asking for one for over a year helped me get this when I did ask for it?
