Well if you enjoyed shopping with this other SA, you could also always switch to her going forward if you think she may be more available to you as a client. Might by a good opportunity in disguise.
She is definitely sweet and nice as well. I did spend a good amount already with my current SA but will this mean I have to restart my purchase history with this new SA

don't overthink this (in other words of course do NOT return). If it’s a one time thing, and you have tons of purchase history , and you want to stay with your SA, do that.

if you think you will get more attention and better service and you like #2 more, then do that.

supply is limited, so you may end up waiting a while for either SA to offer. Not bc you aren’t spending but simply bc there are other clients with longer history who have not yet gotten their QB due to Covid supply chain issues.

I see, thank you. Well my history is not like a ton but would say $10K with this one SA, I am only buying things I need or love such as shoes, fashion jewelry, belts, scarves, some non quota bags. Not sure if I have to build my relationship from scratch with SA # 2 re $$$ and not sure what is the latest now in terms of spending cause everyone is saying different things and I am pretty new to H, my store is in NYC so quite competitive as well... Thank you for your advice, makes me feel better.

I am also in NYC; my purchase history is at least 3:1; I have been offered some 30Bs and accepted one last year, but I have been waiting for a while for the right 25. Purchase history is not the only consideration in the US; I actually think a good rapport with your SA is more important. Having said that, non QB do count towards purchase history in the US, but other categories may be more favorable like homeware; RTW; or other. Just buy what you like with the SA you feel most comfortable with. And be patient And grateful that we aren’t in some parts of Asia where it seems impossible lol

am planning to ask very gently about where I am roughly, and I do feel comfortable that I can ask for a bit more transparency now. I think I appear as too gentle some times since I don't always bring up bags every visit
Agree with @Justlikewhatilike , that You can ask directly for more transparency. But have faith your SA does remember even if it’s not brought up each time. @closetlux put it well in her post above. Good luck and happy shopping

Aww thank you! yes, a friend of mine spent about the same as you in all categories and got offered a B30 recently, we started the journey the same time last year. I love small bags so B25 is what I really want but I guess that's really hard to get now so I should be happy even if I get any kinda offer LOL. Thanks for the links, I will check out. I got scared thinking I ruined my relationship with my SA with what happened today , I think we have a decent relationship but more so in person than text messages. So yes I wont return, duly noted. Will just reconnect, hopefully I get the offer too but maybe $30K is a ball park expenditure for any kinda offer for NYC I assume?

Hi,
A question: I did contacted my SA to go to the store and she confirmed to come and when I did, I saw her but she was busy with other clients and at one point disappeared and another SA came to assist but I told her I was waiting for my SA. However, she called my SA and then came to assist me again saying she can help and I allowed her and did some purchases assuming my SA asked her to assist me. Then I saw my SA again she did say sorry however I did purchases with this new SA and now I am wondering will this ruin my relationship with my current SA though she didn't look annoyed or anything. Will the new SA get the commission in this case and not my current SA, should I return the items I bought and repurchase with my SA again, thank you! Kinda new to this situation and lost here :confused1: and would like some guidance as to how to proceed.

If your regular SA was too busy with other clients to attend to you AND was sorry that she wasn't attending to you AND she was knew that another SA was serving you. Why should you have any concerns?
The idea that you should return the items (that you want*) and repurchase them with your SA is beyond belief. Your SA was serving other customers and getting commission from those sales. Undue concern about SA's commission will lead to an anxious and unhappy shopping experience ay Hermes brought upon by yourself. Just be an enthusiastic, informed and regular customer; focus on the items not the mechanisms of how the store is run.

*Hermes items are in limited production so if you have the opportunity to buy something you want you should do so when you can!

Agree with @WhiteBus. SAs aren’t lone sharks. They do favors for each other all the time. I tend to wait for my SA bc I want his opinion, and I have the luxury of making appts during down times. But, no one is going to worry about a single sale.

The NY store links I provided has much more info about purchase history, and some members like @rachrach1017 have some very helpful observations. Yes, B30 is significantly easier than 25; there are more of them and less demand. Prior to Covid shelter in place, this may not have been as pronounced, but the supply is tight everywhere now; the wealthy got wealthier; they travelled less; and, they shopped more. Hermes can now use these bags as rewards for steady regular high spending customers, especially those who are not entirely focused on every iota of prespend. From what I have read and personally experienced, a 1:1 may get the average customer a 35. That is why a reseller makes more sense if you don’t want enough of the boutique merchandise and don’t want to wait. I actually sense reseller prices softening a bit; there are lots of reseller25s and mini QB that are not selling. I think demand and price are cyclical (though I mean in years, not months). For discontinued bags and heritage leather, I have no issues buying from both boutique and under retail reseller sources. Of course, there are exceptions; this is JMO; and YMMV. Good luck!

Thank you so much and I agree.. I am getting information from others that this may look like I am not loyal to this 1 particular SA and I felt concerned after . I know it's crazy but thanks for putting some sense in me about this. I do love the brand and will continue shopping but yes this whole mechanism thing I wasn't sure how important it is and kinda new to it

I see, yes that's my another concern as I love small bags and not because of the hype but now the whole demand for that is so high. I am thinking of a reseller route as I do want it in a particular combo and not sure what my chances are at the store. However, I am seeing prices from resellers at 3 times more than boutique :crybaby:So I am torn between continue shopping at the boutique or not or just wait it out and hope prices go down with reseller... thank you so much again for your kind info and advice. If ok with you, can I dm you for reseller source info, many thanks!! :)

Your SA knew what was happening and willingly let it happen because she was busy elsewhere. SMs really hate returns and since the purchases were still with your store, they are helpful as far as your SM is concerned when approving bag nominations. I would leave things be and just insist on waiting for your SA from now on, should a similar situation arise.

I totally agree with everyone saying. If you love the items that you purchased, please do NOT return it, even if you purchased it from different SA. Your SA was well aware of the situation and she probably asked her colleague to help her out since she was occupied with other client.

I tend to make an appointment with my SA in late afternoon, hence the traffics in store kinda die down and I have more time with her.

Maybe ask your SA what’s the best time for you to come in for your next appointment?

Everyone has different experiences with their SAs, None of them are identical. As long as you’re happy with her and you feel like she’s sincere and up front with you then dont over think about this situation too much.

I am a newbie at Hermes and from my experience it's important to click with a Hermes SA. I have gone in into a store a couple of times but I was either ignored or I could tell that the SA didn't want to spend time on me. Finally I found an SA that I immediately clicked with and spent 2 hours chatting to. That SA offered to place a wishlist for me and even said they would be able to get a QB for me within 4 months. I am not a big spender and only bought sandals during the visit. It just goes to show you that it's worth actually taking the time to find an SA at Hermes that you click with.
