The actual number may not matter. I’ve been told by Premier brand SAs that it makes more sense for their sales goals to have fewer large clients that they can count on to spend regularly. The amount of work and time spent (special orders, transfers, etc etc) to get the right merchandise and service a client can be substantial. My SAs also decline new clients on the grounds that they cannot accommodate any more.
Absolutely.

I am in no way a big client. But I know what I want and have things to buy every month. I guess my SAs like me as I don’t create a lot of work for them and they can conserve energy to attend to others.

I know they are working to find stuff for me and I don’t even require them to reply my msgs anymore. Lol….hv told them so.

I know it depends on purchasing history but what’s the typically time most shoppers get offered a quota bag? One year? Two years?
Numerous factors determines that.

Which country you are in, how competitive is your store (customer base, pre spendings), how your store works, Did the store receive stock that they could offer you, how much your SA likes you, etc.

Having lived in 3 European countries and 2 (possibly a third) Asian ones, I have started and hopefully maintained my relationships in about 7 stores, with FSH being the longest at 15 years. I can say there is no consistent guideline because it really depends on quite a few things. Right now stock levels are definitely low and I would personally just go with the flow. What has always worked for me is having patience, understanding and good relationships with my SAs, the SM, as well as their other colleagues and basically forgetting about the timeline. Whether it's for bags, SOs, Horizon orders etc. It makes Hermes shopping so much more relaxed and enjoyable.

So new to the terminology, what does FSH start for? Flag store store?

That’s a UK thing. The US doesn’t really have a “wishlist” like that and it’s nothing formal. Here, it’s just the SA scribbling down notes in their personal note app, if at all. It doesn’t go anywhere else, it’s not a storewide list or anything. It’s just “oh yeah, Susan wants a black B25”.
Hi, I never had a formal wish list with my sa but I have done my spending this year. It has been a year I haven’t had any offer yet. What do you think I can say to remind my sa that I still want a quota bag? Thanks

@JlovesLV , just tell your SA you would like x and what is the likelihood given the shortages. This is a conversation your SA has had many times.

I know it depends on purchasing history but what’s the typically time most shoppers get offered a quota bag? One year? Two years?

every one of us could probably give you a different time frame bc there is no set formula (except a maximum annual QB purchase limit which may be gotten around by vvip or FSH luck or otherwise). In NYC, due to Covid shortages, many clients have substantial prespends while waiting for a particular QB. If your choice is a popular one, your wait could be longer bc there are others ahead of you. But, even in NYC, it will be much faster for a long-standing, high spending, current customer of the house who isnt anxiously calculating pre spend ratio.

In the US, it’s as much about the relationship with your SA (and his ability to advocate for you as a steady client to his SM ) than about straight purchase history. It also depends on what you want; how well your SA knows you and your taste; how easy and pleasant the interaction is for everyone concerned; and, yes, how much and what category you purchase.

The SA has enormous sales goals (excluding QBs) to meet. The QB is limited, so when an SA is authorized to offer, it stands to reason that favored clients come first. if you read the thread, well established clients advise that an SA can immediately tell a genuine lover of the Maison from someone who purchases for the sole purpose of a QB. All things being equal, the SA and the Maison would prefer the former as a client.

a larger QB is in less demand, so will take less time and less spend. A smaller one is in greater demand and will be reserved for longer standing clients with a stronger history. I should note that I have no formal wish list, but my SA knows my taste and has offered me QBs and other bags. By the way, once you get the first QB offer, other QB offers will follow more readily.

i just realized I wrote all of this out, but one could just read @periogirl28 ’s statement to forget about the timeline and just enjoy shopping. That basically says it all.

Hi! Was wondering if anyone with a similar situation/history could provide some personal insight. I am about 1 year into my Hermes journey but didn't really make headway until January of this year. I do not live in a state that has an Hermes so prior to this year, I had purchased just a few random items while traveling to Vegas. Fast forward to January, I went on vacation in Hawaii and just really loved the boutique and the SA that I got. I made some big purchases and before leaving was offered and accepted a B30. Still can't believe my luck and at that time I thought I would just be happy with my one bag as is but of course...as we all know that's just the beginning.

Since then I have made a few purchases with the same SA and kept in light touch when appropriate. I do plan on making more purchases throughout the year and trying my best to maintain as authentic a relationship as possible that's mutually beneficial for both of us. Currently I do not have any concrete plans to return to Hawaii this year. I had never been to Hawaii before that trip but am now considering taking my family for an annual trip, especially if it can satisfy my H quench. But I definitely don't plan on going for a trip more than once a year. We love to travel to new places and I don't see myself making multiple trips annually.

I am, however, not opposed to taking a trip with the sole purpose of securing a quota bag. Like I would be ok with flying in for the weekend at the drop of a hat and flying back home. But I don't know how that would work. Would I need to be offered the bag by the SA first and then fly out to pay for it and pick it up or do I just have to go ahead and book a trip and emphasize to the SA that I am coming and would really appreciate it if they try to secure me a quota bag that week? I also have friends that live closer and wouldn't be opposed to picking the bag up for me (would I be able to pay for it via credit card remotely in that case).

Has this sort of relationship ever actually worked out for anyone and how did the logistics play out?

Because I do not have a local store and I have already had such good luck and now a relationship with an SA, I really want this to be my "home store" but admittedly it is halfway across the country from me.

Thanks for reading!

I am in similar relationship with my home store. From my personal experience, if u r offered a bag, you have until that end of month to pick up or make travel arrangements.
My SA had made exception to hold few weeks longer since i already had plan coming.
it is sustainable to have a texting relationship with your SA as long as you are OK to fly out to get quota bags or things that they won’t able to ship

I’m in the same relationship and would love to find out more as well. I’m still waiting for my dream bag, which my SA hinted that it will come as I visit her more. I plan to go twice a year but my family is starting to get tired of traveling to the same place. We have looked into options, such as using that city as a lay over, but I’m not confident at all that I can get a bag in such a short visit. I was told bags can’t be held (maybe just for me) for more than 2 days and I can’t have anyone else other than myself picking up my purchases. Would love to see others’ experience in a long distance relationship.
