I’m
Dear all, I have posted a few times in the past about my journey. My lesson is I went to a very competitive store, kept going with the relationship even thought I knew it wasn’t the right one, even tried to purchase a big ticket RTW item to spark some attention but got nothing. After a year of waiting and 15k into the store, I’ve decided to cut the losses and leave as I found my angel SA at a tourist city, I got offered, the same week as I started spending, my very first beautiful “quota bag”! I’m beyond excited and am ready to fall in love again and baby a new relationship. I find this relationship much more honest and open to any questions and discussions. I love this forum and I love all the suggestions you guys give. Thank you.
I’m so glad that you’ve found someone that sounds like a better fit for you! It makes all the difference!

Hello. Been trying to get a Herbag from my local store for over a year now. I had 3 different SAs assist me for my initial visits to the store. Now, I recently found an SA who was relatively new and was kind enough to give me her contact details after expressing my interest for this bag. There's only one boutique in the country and no local online website. Does this explain why even this bag, which relatively should come easy, is seemingly treated like a QB?

In my time participating on the forum, trying my best to help and share whatever intel I could, my past experiences, as well as my SA contacts where possible, replying to PMs when approached, I have never gotten a response as such. Rather taken aback as it was not even directed at the person who replied to it. I want to thank those who have taken my posts in the positive spirit in which they were made. :flowers:

In an effort to steer the conversation into a more positive direction I would like to let all of my TPF friends know that the most amazing unexpected thing happened this morning and I was offered my very first bag from H. My SA is an angel and her overwhelming comment was “you have just been so nice and I wanted to do this for you.” Kindness goes a long way. I firmly believe now it’s all about the relationship you foster. Not the spend and formulas that people try to decipher. When it all comes down to it, be kind and be patient and this will happen for you. I am blown away by my SA’s kindness! Was not expecting this for a long long long time and was willing to wait, but here we are.
Congrats!!! Your new B is beautiful!
this Is 100% true to my Hermes journey. I am not a big spender but being a pleasure to serve and understanding customer will take you a along way!

I went on my first shopping trip. The sales associate gave me her card and told me to text her if I need anything in the future. She also texted my aunt after the fact for my information. Does that mean that things went well? I didn’t buy much —just a couple pairs of shoes.
I know others will chime in but it’s hard to use this as metrics. I would say that it seems that she is welcoming and willing to service your future needs. The relationship will evolve, just like all human relationships do. However, this is a commercial relationship so you need to keep that in mind. Some become “closer” to their SAs, while others don’t (by choice or not). But back to the point … I would take it as an “invitation” to continue helping you with items so have fun with it and try not to overthink.

I wouldn't read too much into it - I have met a SA which is not my home store SA by chance (picking up SPA bag), she was nice and texted me a few times, but the sub text I got from her was to get me to move to her and she was kinda pushy (10K diamond bracelets and that piano lipsticks set for 2k)... so depend on the SA but at the end remembering it is a "commercial" relationship is important.

to the OP, i would just reply and take it easy to see how it goes.

I did mention to my new SA that the shopping experience at home store haven’t been successful and I never felt valued even after spending 15k. I might have shared my experience in the location specific thread. My new SA indeed told me that I will unlikely get anything at my home store (im still far away) as it has been notoriously competitive.

Congrats!! So exciting and please share the bag you got! I recall seeing your journey in other threads, and so happy that you finally got your QB. May I ask how much you had to spend at the tourist city store?

Thank you. I definitely spent the regular ratio but it was a much better experience. I enjoyed the whole 2 hours I was in the store and loved every piece my SA brought out. I felt very natural around her. She also went above and beyond to find me coveted pieces. When she brought the bag, she knew it wasn’t on my wishlist but she didn’t want me to missed a rghw. I took her offer and it’s the most beautiful Constance 19. (I’ll try to take better pictures in day time to show it’s beauty. )

I once returned an item for store credit (i live in europe) and haven't been treated badly or worse after that. Still have a medium to good relationship with my SA (i get most of the items i want but have to be patient). But this can for sure be different from store to store.
Mindful of the title of this thread:

I really do think we should do our utmost to encourage people to behave towards Hermes SAs
(does that mean shop assistants or sales advisers or sales associates?- for goodness sake!)
in the same way that we would the staff of any other retail outlet - with politeness and good humour. Most of the awkward culture around Hermes behaviour is founded on social media annecdotes that do not represent the real life experience of the full spectrum of Hermes customers.
I’ve returned a RTW item before and I don’t think it impacted my relationship! I do shop pretty often with my SA, I returned it the next day after trying it on again at home and changing my mind.

Thank you! Cannot agree more with all of you especially @WhiteBus; was also reading the Overheard at Hermes thread and thought: gee whiz people can be so rude!

Thanks as well for placating my fears; I tried to be as gentle as possible with my SA and she was understanding and so hopefully this doesn't tarnish my relationship with her. Now the next question is: how do I spend my store credit? Hahahah!

Oh no! Perhaps the Covid shortages due to supply chain disruptions. If you want a specific colorways Pegasus, it might be trickier, but it should only be a matter for waiting to get one transferred in. Good luck!
