Hello all! New-ish to the forums and to collecting H. I finally found a lovely SA at Meatpacking in NYC.
I don't know that I'll want a quota bag per se but the idea of having someone to help find regular H things and potentially help with a SO someday sounds great.
I've seen it said here that if you don't want a QB it is 'fine' to shop around, but is the general reco in my case that it can't hurt by being loyal (and supporting a nice, competent person?)

Agree with all above comments. MP is my home store too. And yes, stick with one SA who you can really connect with. H/she will eventually knows what your preferences are and it will make your experience much better. Good luck!

I went to Vegas for my 40th bday with my husband in September 2021. I decided to start my Hermès “journey” finally. I had made purchases here and there online before but never had any luck with my local Beverly Hills store to get any connection w an SA. The SA in Vegas was kind and helpful and decided to be loyal to her and long story short I’ve spent over $16k in the past few months. In February I told her that I wanted to fly out to see her and go shopping and she told me to not waste my time because she didn’t have any inventory and didn’t want me to get disappointed. Anyways….I’ve been trying to shop with her for scarves and some items I’ve seen online but she’s been extremely distant and very late on her relies and now it’s been 2 weeks since my text and requested items and She hasn’t even relied. I know she’s still working there.
A few weeks ago I was in Beverly Hills (my local H store) and I was connected to a very kind and nice SA. I shopped with the SA for some fun stuff like fashion jewelry, bag charm and some other things.
I’m strongly considering changing SAs. I feel like I should stick to my local store since I can’t go to Vegas that often but I can pop into my local store often.
what do you guys think I should do?? I just want to be offered at least ONE QB.

Stock is genuinely extremely low so I think she was being honest and open with you when she told you not to bother and was trying to save you the cost of the trip and your time. Many SAs are also being quite slow to reply lately as it seems they’d rather give no reply than reply that they can’t source an item. Unfortunately, if your goal is a quota bag with as little other spend as possible, I think you made a big mistake shopping at BH and the damage has now been done. Your Vegas SA and SM will see your BH purchases and it will very likely hurt your chances of being offered a bag in Vegas. If you want to move your relationship to BH, then do so but know that it’s an extremely competitive store and your profile is essentially reset to just your BH purchases going forward.

I tried searching but I’m not clear if this has been answered before. My SA ordered a fine jewelry piece for me from H.com while I was in store last week. Does he get credit for that and will that be considered an online purchase for my profile?

Thank you so much for your helpful reply! I know ughhh it’s so hard. It was just such an impulse shop in BH and now I feel bad. I want to be loyal to my SA in Vegas but just also love being able to go into the store and just buy.

Yes. If your SA facilitates the sale, he gets credit, including from in store H .com orders.

Be loyal. It’s not just a Hermes thing, but a luxury retail thing. You’ll get way more perks/benefits by doing so.

Definitely stick with an SA you like just for ease of them remembering things you like and prefer. It also makes it easier to shop IMO when you already have a good relationship with an SA who already knows your preferences and won’t waste your time showing you things you won’t like. I’m the type of shopper who comes in knows what they want and leaves. I rarely have time to just hang out slowly and my SA appreciates that. Because we have an established relationship spanning years, he shows me pieces he knows I like and will give me honest opinions on what wont work for me

No, it’s the same as if they transferred it in for you from another boutique location.

Thank you all for the kind replies! I will go with your recos and my gut and work with my new SA. She was already so helpful in ordering this Jimetou jumping case Madison said no one had...she found the last one in the US in Chicago and had it shipped.

While MP isn't the biggest store, I have found the vibe to be vastly different than Madison in a way that works better for me.

MP is def a different vibe, more casual I feel. I like the MP store and the lighting there much better but my SA is at Madison so I stay there but if I didn’t have an SA I def feel MP has more of a casual fun vibe. Madison is also very friendly and fun but it takes a bit for folks to warm up

Yes this! I love the MP boutiques for both brunello and Hermes, but I love my SAs uptown (also I need a bigger home goods section and that’s Madison) The shoe area is so nice in MP. The store is laid out like a jewel box. Oh well! MP clients are very fortunate!

Yes agree. The layout is much better at MP. Hopefully with the combined store coming this fall, Madison will have a whole new vibe! With better lighting!

IMO stick with Vegas. I think she was being extremely honest and tried to save you a pointless trip. H SAs are really not happy about saying no stock over text. But, they don’t forget your requests. I’m sure stock will start to trickle in soon and you only started in September of last year.

BH likely has long standing clients waiting since thanksgiving for their QB, and you will start from the beginning

While MP isn't the biggest store, I have found the vibe to be vastly different than Madison in a way that works better for me.

I previously shopped at Madison but I'm now an MP client and you're right, the vibe is very different there. Maybe it's also because I'm older now but I feel a lot more at home at MP! It seems much cozier and welcoming, which is maybe what they were going for because my DH told me MP was originally designed to have a cafe on the main floor.
