Mini K is just genuinely low in stock. I don't think your SA will be frustrated; if anything it is easier than their having to offer you multiple other bags that you will turn down. Unfortunately, it may be a long wait: first, they need to get the MK IN THE COLORS YOU WANT; then, you need to be top of list.
It actually sounds like your SA is trying to get you a bag, but what you want is just unfortunately rare. Again, won't hurt the relationship, but may be a long time coming.

Thank you for the input! Definitely agree that they're super rare so it'll be a long wait. I do think he's trying his best to get me something which I obviously really appreciate, I've had a couple great offers (tricolor MK and black K25) but just not the colours or size I was looking for.

In short, I don't think it would hurt your relationship. I think your SA is actually trying very hard to offer you a bag, knowing the mini Kelly is a real challenge and few are even ordered by most stores. He is widening your options for a bag which they have a higher chance of receiving. It's entirely up to you if you rather wait, it shows you are serious. Right now all I can say for sure is a neutral/ pastel pink/ blue mini K is going to be a long wait.

Thank you so much for the comment! Yes, my wishlist is definitely not easy. It was funny because I originally only had neutrals on my list, and then I added pink and blue later to which my SA responded "that doesn't help much" lol - but I'm totally fine with waiting and enjoying the other things H has to offer in the meantime :)

Am I wrong in thinking that SOs are not even offered at some stores in Canada? I think I read that somewhere recently.

That's exactly what I thought as well! Either that or maybe one or two of the boutiques offer them? I really can't be sure since I'm pretty new myself.

Hi!

I’m back with update on my first visit today at the Hermes store! It went very well and I really like my SA. Super nice and patient and answered all my questions. She also took her time in showing me things. Towards the end of my visit, it felt right to bring up the “wishlist” topic and she went ahead to explain what that all means since she knows that I’m a newbie to Hermes. She helped me create my profile and took down my wish for a birkin bag. She did mention that it is in high demand which we all know and that it may take time.

I bought a few things that I love and know will use! A beautiful silk scarf, scarf ring ( she took her time to show me different ways on how to use it), a notebook- Ulysse planner and a planner insert to go with it.

I’ve read that some were told that they had to spend a certain amount etc upfront to build their profile to be considered but my SA didn’t say much except for that. So…do you think I’m on the right track? Possible birkin in the future? I also mentioned to her that I look forward to seeing her again soon and we established the best way to communicate and be encouraged me to reached out to her with any questions. She gave me a bunch of perfume samples and we shared a few personal things about ourselves…..so I’m hoping we’re off to a good start!

Sounds like such a great experience! Do you mind DMing me your SA’s name? I’m had very poor experience at the store in the past with another male SA so switched my home store to the Honolulu store. However, I would love to give SF a try again if there are nicer SAs there lol.

Hi there! Thank you! Let me ask her first if that would be okay? Since I’m a new customer to her as well. I’m hoping to see her in the next month or two so will ask her in person and get back to you :)

Hi!

Do your SAs usually send you pics of random things (scarf, shoes, jewelry...) and ask if you want to buy those? My SA does this from time to time, and 90% of the time I did not like the things they sent over  I'm the type of person who always finds it hard to say No (to everything in life, not just H), so feel very uncomfortable having to turn my SA down

Is there any good way to navigate such situations? TIA

Feel free to reject if you don’t like those items she sent u. Mine will do that too and I do reject.

however I take it as a hint to explore that category and will buy something I like…..e.g she sent me some porcelain I don’t like, I will ask for certain other porcelain I like from her.

Hi! In the last 10 years I've bought a couple of scarfs and bracelets but I wasn't really serious about the H game. I was a Céline and Chanel girl at heart but i've always likes Hermès. With the new price increases at Chanel I'm out of the Chanel game.

A Kelly 28 is my holy grail bag for years and I started the 'H game' a couple of months ago. The first time I've met my SA I asked directly for a Kelly bag. But I was turned down immediately and he was a bit annoyed (I totally understand). Woops, not the greatest start of the H game . The sister of a friend of mine got a Kelly bag in the week before without a purchase history. She was bold enough to ask directly and they had a Kelly in the back which she bought. I thought I would try the same thing but it didn't work unfortunately. I decided to build a relationship the 'normal way' so I can eventually ask THE question about a quota bag.

So far I've bought items I really love in the last 8 months or so. A Kelly belt, two pairs of Orans, Calvi cardcase, cashmere scarf, Avalon blanket and I've ordered the matching pillows. In the last visit I've finally dared to mention that I would love to own a Kelly or Constance bag one day. And my SA responded he's happy to make an appointment so he could write down my wishes. He also gave me his phonenumber so we could text in the future. We only had contact by e-mail so far. I think the H game is going well so far!

But regarding my wishes for a K or C. What would you do? I'm fairly specific for my first quota bag. My first choise would be black Kelly 25/28 sellier GHW in Epsom but wouldn't mind other leathers like box, tadelakt or chevre. My second choice is a red/pink Kelly sellier 25/28 with GHW. And lastly a black C with GHW in epsom.

How 'big' can your wishlist be? Is it too specific or just right? Is black difficult to get? And which sizes/colors/leathers are more easy to get?

Thank you!

I thought I would share my relationship as I just started shopping in Hermès in Feb 2021. I called randomly as it was in the middle of the lockdown and I was bored. My SA called me back and we had a great conversation for an hour. I actually wanted a Bolide as it suits my lifestyle. Our store was not selling any bags at that point. I slowly built a relationship just buying a few things that I really liked. When I calculate all the items, I did end up spending quite a bit. Items were 1 shawl, lots of China ( Bleu d'ailleurs..set of 8), a Bastia and a Calvi, 3 beach towels. A Bouncing sneaker (which I had to return due to a defect) and an Oasis sandal. A beautiful blanket for my husband. However, now I have a garden party 30 (first bag offered in March), a Bolide 25 ( second bag offered in September), and a Birkin 25 ( first quota bag end October). I think my SA knows that I only buy what I genuinely like and I actually enjoy shopping with her. It’s very quick and easy. I send her an email and she responds if she has the item available. I emailed her my wishlist for a Kelly 28 a few months ago but this Birkin was a bit of a surprise offer which I couldn’t refuse. Sometimes in my store, they are super busy and the SA can seem really rushed but she says she is always listening even while rushing around. All the bags I have are beautiful.

Not sure if this is the right thread for this - is it appropriate to give your Hermes SA a holiday gift, something like a box of chocolates? Does Hermes have a company policy on accepting gifts from clients?
If you search the forum you will see people comments about gifting SA. From what I read, it seems that they only take gifts that are edible and SA in the store will share it. But with the pandemic, I am not sure if it's still the same.
I personally think gifting is not necessary for building the relationship as your purchases will be more appreciated than the gifts. I always express my gratitude if my SA does something for me via text and it has been well received.

Thank you - great advice!

In the US they cannot accept gifts, except for food that needs to be shared among employees, like the previous member mentioned. During the pandemic, they stopped accepting food (chocolates, pastries, etc) but now I think you can give them something if it’s individually wrapped. I agree with the previous post. My SA was honest enough to share with me that she doesn’t eat sweets and she just wants the relationship. Nothing else. My SA in California liked chocolates. So I think it’s personal and you will have to ask to see if it’s something that she likes. My 2 cents
