SAs appreciate RTW/fine jewelry/home purchases more than SLG/scarves. I have a feeling it’s because those categories are more difficult to reach their sales goals in (which then leads to higher bonus, promotions, etc) moreso than any concern over the straight commission rate difference. As a client it all boils down to the same thing though.

a bit of a newbie question, but are watches considered fine jewelry in this context? and when you mean fine jewelry - is it the actual gold-based jewelry, or does sterling silver fall into this as well?

Watches are not “fine jewelry” but are probably just as good as fine jewelry in this context. Silver is not “fine jewelry” either but still better than fashion jewelry. But again, it’s all store and SA dependent so it’s really not worth trying to work the system. Just buy what you love and would buy regardless of the bag quest and eventually it’ll work out.

Agreed, that's my understanding too. All my purchases were SLGs, fashion bracelet, scarves, bags, and a pair of shoes (granted, I spent a lot, probably not for H standards) and I got my quota bag. I think watches and fine jewelry definitely help your profile but I don't think it's worth buying if you don't love it for itself.

this is good to know. I have really fallen in love with H shoes in particular and have went a little crazy (at least by my typical shopping standard, but I love what I have picked out). I also have really enjoyed their jewelry thus far. I'm buying what I love for sure, but I'm happy to report after a few silly posts here that I got my first offer - K25 Epsom Sellier in Gold and I go to pick her up tomorrow! So thanks to everyone here for their help so far. It's good to know what we've discussed here too, as a watch is likely next on my list. I love the H Heure watch.

Congrats!!! That's such a cute size, show us a reveal (if you don't mind) when you get a chance!

I've heard watches can definitely help your profile, and the H Heures are so pretty. It definitely sounds like you have a great relationship with your SA!

Looking for some advice: I have managed to request on my wishlist a Kelly 25 (would be my first quota bag) a month ago; I don't have a massive spending history so I am not expecting to receive an offer anytime soon. I am planning to get some sandals later this month, and was wondering whether it would still be ok if I purchased it through a shoe SA for it to count in my spending history? I don't currently work with a specific leather SA (but I have dealt with the same one for various issues, and he was the one who added what I wanted on my wishlist, but I don't have his details apart from his name), and the way my boutique is structured, I think I would only be able to be assisted by someone from the shoe department rather than leather.

It would help to know which country you shop in as the store/SA structure can vary accordingly.

Hi Everyone,
Brand new member here :)
So glad I found this forum! After catching up on the previous post in the thread I decided to finally raise my hand and speak up. I have a humble collection of H scarves mostly bought from online/airports when traveling. Starting last year I begin to check on H scarf on a regular basis, and for the 2020S/S, I had purchased the La Folle Parade (CW 12, Rose/Blanc), 3 Zebra Pegasus Nano (noir/blanc, orange vif, and blue vif), and Les Artisans (CW 11 lagon) will arrive this Friday. I will post pictures of all of them after the last one arrive.
My question is this: I had decided to work with a SA starting last year (want to buy a B/K in the future). She seems nice enough in person when I purchased bracelets, scarves, etc from her. However, whenever I text her regarding ordering a scarf ( I had inquired about Della Cavalleria Favolosa double sided scarf, Les Artisans, and the Acte III shawl), the replies had always been short and rather curt ("the store has ordered it", "we don't know when it will arrive", etc).
This type of customer service is not what I had anticipated (comparing with my experience w/ Chanel/LV/Burberry). Can someone please let me know is this normal from H or that I should switch SA (I went to Beverly Hills, but there is another boutique in South Coast Plaza)?
Also, we will be San Francisco next month for spring break and I'm really looking forward to try some scarves in person. Any suggestions for a SA I should ask for?
Sorry about this long post. Thank you for everyone who had post pictures, that was really helpful. I look forward to being a contributing member in the future as well :)

Hi, my London SA can assist with any purchase I’m interested in. I would begin by contacting them and telling them what you’re after, if they can’t assist, they will happily point you in the right direction, but I think this will be unlikely.
The issue that I have is that I am not working with any specific SA at the moment, and I don’t think that going directly to a leather SA to get some help on shoes will work!

Okay..so who put your name down for one?

I don't currently work with a specific leather SA (but I have dealt with the same one for various issues, and he was the one who added what I wanted on my wishlist, but I don't have his details apart from his name),

So you've talked to one person for all your interactions in store....

You're overanalyzing this and making this more difficult than it really is.

I don't know why you say you're not working with a specific SA when you clearly are. You don't have his contact info? ASK him for it. You're not sure if he can sell you other items? ASK him to show you other items. His livelihood is based on selling. He'll be happy to help you with whatever your hearts desire.

A sure way of NOT getting your K25 is by bouncing around from SA to SA. If this SA took your preferences down, he clearly wants to work with you. Buy through him and keep a repertoire. Stick to those who treat you well and show loyalty. This is retail 101 for any retailer but ESPECIALLY Hermes.

Thanks for taking the time to reply and for the advice. Am I overanalysing the situation? Probably. I’m fairly new to the whole H shopping experience, especially when it comes to quota bags. And this forum has been great in sharing advice and experiences, especially from more seasoned shoppers. So let’s keep the tone light shall we.
