Ok quick but maybe silly question. I love girl scout cookies and bought an extra box and thought I’d drop them off at my local Hermès store as a little thank you to the staff who were so nice when I was in last with my toddler son. Would that be totally weird? I like my SA, but I don’t want her to make her feel awkward...

Not at all!! So sweet of you. I think the staff would appreciate the kind gesture and won’t read into it. Sometimes I feel like we are so careful how we tread around the SAs, but at the end of the day, I’m sure they have a sweet tooth. [emoji6]

I think it's fine!

Hi [emoji173]️

I’d love to receive some more advice on my current H journey. I’ve found this forum to be extremely helpful so far so thank you to all in advance.

I started my H journey in Sept 2019 with my current SA and have spent ~8K on variety of items (2 shoes, shawl, gold earrings, belt, SLG, wallet, and mugs). I received a Constance offer a couple months ago that I turned down because my heart is set on a Birkin.

I gently asked about the status of my wishlist items on my most recent visit last month but received a general response that there’s no availability and that my SA was working on it (which I understand and believe).

Any advice on how to proceed or if I should gently bring up my wishlist items on my next visit? I probably won’t be able to visit again until end of March or early April. Am I being unrealistic in my hopes of getting offered a B anytime soon? I understand $8K isn’t much compared to other well established clients but I also don’t think I’ve spent a small amount.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated! [emoji173]️

Assuming you are in the USA, 8k and 4-5 months probably is not enough time or money for a B25 (especially in pink or neutral colors) especially as a first quota bag. A non-classic color, non-pink B30 is probably more realistic but it is the start of a new calendar year so all the longer term clients have fresh quota and will likely be served first. My only advise is out of sight, out of mind so the more often you can be there and the more purchases you make, the better your chances. Otherwise, your only option is to be patient. (But by all means, inquire with your SA again next time you shop.) Good luck!

Don't buy anything you don't want just because you want a B25. My first B25 was offered after buying a scarf and a clutch as a new customer (not on the same visit, I need to clarify. Actually I was dragged into the private room during a random visit.). The whole "you have to spend this much to get this offer" is... really just a trap lol. If you are not being offered one, just wait. I mean, a birkin is just a bag and I am sure we all have more than one bag in our closets haha *wink*. If you've waited for too long and even your SA starts to feel bad, politely ask if you can place a special order with them. If this March is not possible, ask about this November.

Thanks for the advice! To clarify, everything I bought were all items I wanted [emoji846] I absolutely love certain H items (especially shoes) and plan to buy more in the future. I think I’ll just wait and be patient for now. I’ll be traveling to Paris in a couple weeks so hoping to score something there as well!

Sorry if this has been answered before!

What do your SAs get commission on, and what are some items in which do they not receive commission?

....I think I may be getting some answered mixed up with commission items vs. items that count/ do not count as your pre-spend on getting a B/K/C. Thanks!!

Seems it may vary per store/country but in my USA store, they get commission (at varying rates per category) on everything up to and including Constances. In other words, if it’s a quota bag for you, they don’t get commission (but it does still count toward their and the store’s sales numbers).

This is what I was told as well. My SA happens to be a sales manager so for her, the store numbers matter.

Is it true that SLG/scarves have lower commission rates comparing to RTW/fine jewellery/home items?
SAs appreciate RTW/fine jewelry/home purchases more than SLG/scarves. I have a feeling it’s because those categories are more difficult to reach their sales goals in (which then leads to higher bonus, promotions, etc) moreso than any concern over the straight commission rate difference. As a client it all boils down to the same thing though.
