Thanks for taking the time to reply and for the advice. Am I overanalysing the situation? Probably. I’m fairly new to the whole H shopping experience, especially when it comes to quota bags. And this forum has been great in sharing advice and experiences, especially from more seasoned shoppers. So let’s keep the tone light shall we.

I don't think anything DB8 has suggested is wrong or veering from 'light' in tone, as you put it.

The London SA's are really very friendly and as you have commenced a rapport with one, talk to them about your wants and needs, irrespective of whether you feel they are too small or irrelevant to their roles.

Further to this, although there is plenty of talk of relationships, quotas, ratios etc across the board, try and treat this process more organically. Be clear and upfront about what you want, don't set your expectations too highly or expect too much too soon, and you will most likely be pleasantly surprised at the responses.

Good luck and do please keep us updated of your progress!

Thanks @FreddieMac
The answers I got so far have made me realise that I am overthinking it for sure, so next time I go in, I will go directly to that SA and ask for an update and see if I can get my shoes through him ☺️
I’m not expecting to get a bag soon, to clarify. Hermès’ sales system when it comes to bags is very different from what I’ve experienced with other luxury brands, so it can be a bit unsettling for newbies!

Super! And all the better if you’re in no rush. A little patience will go a long way and you’ll find what you’re looking for when the time is right!

A question about SA seniority. I am working with an SA that is relatively new to Hermès but was a senior level SA at Chanel previously. Wondering if he would have a better chance at scoring me my wishlist items because he is building his client list? Or is it better to go with an SA that has been at Hermès longer?

This is just my opinion...I think it's better to have an SA you really get along with, because they'll advocate for you to get what you want. I've heard that for a new SA, they sometimes have less clients so they have more quota bags to distribute, and also that they get the "bottom of the list" bags that the other SAs didn't want.

My first SA was brand new to Hermes and we pretty much started our journey at the same time. She was able to get me everything I wanted including a mini K, k28 in black, 1 special order, and 2 C all in 1 year. I think because she was new, it was easy for her to get those items to build her client list? That or my store is that easy.
So to answer your question, Id stick with the new SA and enjoy the journey together.

My observation with new SAs is that although they might not get first pick of quota bags, they tend to be "hungrier" and work much harder than senior SAs with an established client list. They will fight harder to try to get the bags their clients want. So, I'd stick with your current SA unless you don't get along well with him or feel that he's lazy.

This. Plus the new ones aren’t as “jaded”... I don’t mean that in a bad way either.. they just are as use to the whole H song and dance, and will likely try harder (if you find One you get along with)

My SA recently quit H and moved out of state and it has been somewhat tricky to find a new SA at that location. So far, I have been pushed off to the 4th SA who is brand new on the sales floor (was working in the back). I think the others were so busy with their own. I feel like I am starting over in some ways and not a fun situation. Hoping it will all work out!!!
I also wanted to mention that not all items can be found at one single location. I have found that a rare item such as a Rodeo PM So Black or a popular or limited edition twilly you pretty much have to work with other SAs at other locations if you really want something and not available online (and want it now like me lol). Not all items are able to transfer in has been my experience. However, they were able to transfer a fine jewelry gold / diamond ring in my size.

Aside from a few purchases in Paris, I’m new to H in the US. Stopped in a local store to meet an SA recommended to me, chatted and got along well in person. Didn’t purchase because I was on Ban Island lol. Texted SA to say thanks for chatting/nice to meet you, no response. No problem, I figured they’re busy plus I hadn’t purchased anything at initial meet.

Fast forward 1 month and I’ve emerged from financial lockdown and want to pick up some scarves and other things. Emailed above SA to see if I could make an appointment to purchase, no response.

I totally understand I haven’t built any purchase history with this SA yet so I don’t expect very much. In person interaction seemed great, but my concern is if I do build a relationship with said SA, the no response thing would drive me bonkers. What are your thoughts—stick with it and see what happens after I make purchases or keep looking?

Call the store. It doesn’t hurt to scout around as well. Like me, I just remembered my SA is on vacation.

Does the person who recommended the SA have similar feedback about the SAs responsiveness? If yes, I would look for a different SA. If no, it’s probably just a function of you being an unknown at this point.

SA's don't always respond timely.
I'd go back into that boutique if you see that SA & the connection is positive from your persepctive,
I'd give it a go.....

I am in Chicago next week and Atlanta a few weeks from now. I am desperate for C'est la Fete. If I called ahead, would they tell me if they have any in stock? Not getting any in at my home store yet and my sa in on holiday. I worry not all cws will show up at my home store.
