Please excuse the longish lead-in, as this is my 1st post...
I was on vacation recently and made my 1st H in-store purchase (I had purchased 2 scarves on-line in the past) and worked with a very nice SA who was great at helping me decide between 2 scarves I liked (I ended up buying both). It was a great experience, but I'm not sure how much of it was her customer service or the beginning of a genuine working relationship.

I went back 2 days later and she helped me decide on a couple of bangles I was interested in. Again, it was a great experience and I felt it had the beginnings of a good working collaboration, as she started giving me more personal feedback on my choices.

At the end of the 2nd visit, she thanked me warmly and gave me her business card and her phone number and told me to text her if I wanted anything.

My question is, should I "bug" her for help to purchase items that I can easily buy on-line? I am not, and will never be a big spender (by H standards).

Thanks for your advice.
Are you after a Birkin/Kelly/Constance one day? Will you be returning to this store any time soon/often or was this a one time vacation spot?

I would eventually like to score a Birkin, but realistically, I wouldn't be able to meet any spend requirements to expect to be offered one, so I will probably go the pre-loved route at some point or try my luck in Paris.

I have no problems visiting her once or twice a year, so that's not an issue.

I guess I am trying to figure out if the commission she would earn on my small sales would be worth her time. I spent approximately $1000 my 1st visit and $1800 on my 2nd. I would see myself spending about the same going forward and I would like to maintain the relationship, but don't want to be a pain, when I can access some items via the website.

Thanks again for the advice.

Selling H items is their job so any sale she can make helps with her commissions and sales goals. I would encourage you to continue shopping solely through her if you would like to maintain the relationship. However, it will come at a cost to you as shipping is free from the website but generally not free from the store. I’ve found with H SAs, if your request is not worth their time, they will let you know with subtle hints or will simply not reply to the request. Good luck!

I have only worked with my SA for 9 months, so I defer to others here.

I think one of the advantages of working with an SA is that (if you are going to start watching the scarf forum especially) she can get items for you that show up in the system but aren't available on the website. My SA has brought in 4 scarves in colorways that I saw here from other stores in the last year that weren't in her store or on the website.

If she gave you her card and you want to work through an SA, give it a try. If you do happen to visit (making appointments) once or twice a year, that will definitely help your relationship. The fact that you don't have a bag as a goal (nor do I), takes some of the pressure off!

Yes you should purchase everything from her if your goal is to eventually get a quota bag offer. She sounds very motivated to help you get your items. I thought I wasn’t a big spender and still really am not, and yet I still quota bag offers. It all depends on what you are asking for.

Thank you all very much for the guidance and advice. As was stated earlier, at worst, I guess she'll simply not reply to my requests and no harm done. At best, I'll be able to get items I would love to have but currently can't purchase online.

Thanks again for the help!

I think what you should do is set up another meeting with her and tell her that you would like to shop with her from now on despite you’re on vacation but would still like to keep her as your SA. You can keep your credit card on file at the store and if there’s anything ever showed up online, you can email her and have her charge ship it to you. That way all your spending will be with her and at that specific store. Any amount you will spend will count so I think you can communicate with her as well that you’re eventually after a b/k/c. I don’t think there’s a minimum amount you have to spend before you can have that “talk”.
