Ladies what’s the etiquette to request a bag? I’m a new H lover and have picked my home store and worked consistently with one SA. I’ve bought enough merchandise in the past month (scarves, shoes and jewelry) to equal the amount of the bag that I want- Kelly. My SA still has not asked me about my wishlist yet, should I bring it up? Or is that considered to be a big no? She’s usually a very good SA and has impeccable taste and so far has recommended only items that she thinks I would like. Just not sure why the radio silence on this. If it helps, I’m based in Asia/Singapore.
If it singapore u should just ask you are now entitle to getting a bag for sure

Don't expect your SA to be psychic; she's a shop assistant not a mind reader.

If the truth were known she's probably pleased that the issues of Ks or Bs has not come up because you are a good source of commission without having to spin some line about difficult to get bags.

When I first met her I was actually very up front about wanting a quota bag and she said that they typically require folks to buy other items at the price of the bag first before offering a bag.

Im worried that since a month went by, she might have forgotten or if there’s a certain protocol that I’m not aware of? I just don’t want to come off as pushy or demanding :/

It is better to ask. When I told my SA I wanted one she was surprised and said she has no idea. Then she took down my wishlist. If I had never told her I’m pretty sure she wouldn’t have offered.

Random question how many times have you all passed on offered items that were not exactly to your liking before you finally got close to or exactly what you wanted?
It depends on your relationship with the SA. When I first started working with my current SA, I passed on two bags before saying yes to the first B I bought from her. She was not far off on the first two bags because I actually own those bags in a different size. These days, she would just get my prioritized list. My specs allow for close but not exact matches in some cases. She would also offer some non quota bags that she think I would like that is not on my wishlist.

Thanks! This is helpful. Just wanted to make sure it wasn’t just me.

Need some expert advice for getting a birkin- SA1@store1 I’ve worked with for ~10 years and have been getting things sent to me since I moved/after store2 closed. SA2@store2 I met at a local store that’s since closed. I recently found out they moved to another store(3). Should I continue buying with SA1@store1, which wouldn’t involve face to face meets and I’d have to fly to get birkin if ever offered or start buying with sa2@store3. I don’t have any buying history at store3 but a good relationship with SA2 and buying history with at the old store(2). I would also note that store3 is closer but still far and I don’t plan on going often in person. Sorry if the story is confusing!

I'm new to this thread and pretty inexperienced with forming a H relationship. I know I would love to get my hands on a 28 Kelly. Is it even possible to just walk in the store, browse, ask for the bag, and then score a bag? Has this happened to ANY first timers? Or is this basically impossible?

If I were you I would continue with SA1@store1 and be sure she knows your intentions...i.e. "I'd really love to have an X Birkin in my collection someday and could definitely come in to pick it up if it were available to me." What I definitely would not do is to continue shopping with more than one SA regardless of who you choose (assuming everyone is in the same country). Both SAs can see your purchase history and loyalty is everything when it comes to H. JMHO.

Basically, no, it is not possible in the USA unless you also spend a significant amount of money on other select items during that visit and also get lucky that a K28 is sitting in the stock room without already having someone's name on it. The last three bags that I have gotten have had upto eight names lined up to be offered the bag in succession until one of them bought it had I turned it down.

It is unlikely, though not impossible. Typically coveted bags are reserved for established customers. You may enjoy reading some of the threads on how to maintain an H relationship or how to score a coveted bag like a B or K. Do you live close to a boutique where you can begin to build a relationship with an SA?

Yes there is a boutique. It's not too close but I can go there.

Excellent points. Sa1 already knows I make occasional purchases while traveling.

When you are ready, I highly recommend a visit to the boutique! Have a look around, see if there is an SA that you click with. The SA can show you other items you might like and little by little, you will build a profile while learning more about the craftsmanship across different departments. Truly, bag offers have a lot to do with the relationship you build with your boutique. Good luck finding your dream kelly!...
