I think one or two of my bags are made in Italy... can't remember which one though, I'd have to check..., and yes, I do prefer the France one as well... not sure why, I'm just partial to French made stuffs I guess

oh my.. the reason i chose the large classic flap over the GST was because of the FRANCE stamp. i wouldn't want the italy classic, i think if you paid the same price, you should get the one with the France stamp as I feel it holds the value better...

I truly don't like this change!:tdown:Most of the C bags that came out to be problematic were made in Italy! The "MADE IN FRANCE" label has always been a guarrantee of quality!

I don't think we ever collect data on those defected bags whether they are made by Italy or France. How do you know " came out to be problematic were made in Italy" ? Also, we've seen reports of quality problem on classic flaps which mostly "made in France" :smile1:

Then you'll miss a lot of Italy-made gorgeous bags.

I prefer made-in-Italy but I will buy my dream bag despite where it's made. I look carefully how the bag was made. I don't look at where it was made. I saw leather problem on recent release of GST. The leather is not as smooth. I won't buy those GSTs even they were made in Italy.

i think quality control has nothing to do with which country the bags are made in but all to do with the control dept. also depends on how much experience the person who was making the bag has.

i have LV made in spain and france, the quality are just as nice. it is all in the mind set IMO.

by the way may i ask does your caviar leather feels soft?

the caviar leather on my bag is reasonably soft which is nice as it doesn't look too boxy. but i find the jumbos to be of a curvier shape than the smaller flaps anyway.

I'm only talking about the classic flap. ONLY. Classic flap meaning large, jumbo, etc. I don't mind the Italy.. but for the classic flap, it must be France. I'm not trying to put down Italy AT ALL, I'm just saying that I'm gonna spend the money for a CLASSIC FLAP, it better be made in France.

Since the OP got a jumbo classic flap made in Italy, i don't feel like it's the same.

Sorry I misunderstood you. If you use the word "classic" alone, it could mean classic flap (jumbo, small,.. ) or classic tote (GST, PST, ...) or classic clutch (timeless) :smile1:

to add on to my post, what if you listed your Jumbo on ebay and posted the picture of the ITALY stamp.. there would be some questions about authenticity.

Yeah, it could be questionable. It could be harder to sell for now. But if classic flap indeed made in Italy, we will see these flaps show up in the stores. I am not worry buying beautiful color jumbo made in Italy from the store, not on ebay no matter where it was made.
