Hi. I know this seems like a silly question, but I got around to wondering where people perferred their Chanel handbags to be made. Italy or France? Do you have any perference?? Where is your Chanel handbag made???? I have one Chanel made in Italy, and one made in France.

I prefer the made in France bags -better work and down to details! My white lambskin Madison it's made in Italy though but it's got no quilting-only in the satin lining!:smile1:

I feel the same way....and my Red Madison - just as your white, is from Italy of course - and while I love that bag, I do agree I prefer that France stamp.:smile1:

My new Classic Jumbo is Made In Italy. My vintage Chanel bag is Made in France. I will have to check my GST later cuz I am not sure on that one. Is it normal for a Classic Jumbo to be Made In Italy? I never really thought much of a diff between being made there or France.

I have a hot pink Chanel evening bag thats very tiny with gold hardware and it is made in Italy. (It was my 1rst Chanel, but because of it's tiny size I don't use it a lot.) And I have a pink and black cambon Chanel bowler that is made in France, and it is very well made. It really doesn't matter to me that much where they're made from, but I too, like the France stamp a bit better.

On the vintage bags, I find those Made in France seem to be better quality -- the stitching is more symetrical, the gold stamp is sharper. Perhaps quality control was more stringent in France before the EU? :-) National pride and all ...

France is better of course. Chanel is from France, not Italy. Same as LV, I will check where it's made before I decide to buy or not.

My reissue is of course from France.
