Somehow i think it's due to the source and finishing of the leather rather than the made in. I think i read equal findings in dull leathers between MIF, MII and MIS

Hi there. New here and I too have this dream of getting a Made in France (MIF) bag, specifically a Classic Jumbo in Black Caviar Leather with GHW. At this stage all I have seen so far in the boutiques are Made in Italy (MII) for the Classic Jumbo. I am trying to workout if certain bags only get made in one country vs another now, in which case the Classic Jumbo MIF has become extinct and I just go with what I have seen. My question to everyone out here (and thanks for taking the time to comment):

Does anyone know if the Chanel Gabrielle backpack was made in France ever? Someone is selling one but the tag says made in France whereas the others I've seen say made in Italy so I'm wondering if that's a red flag that it's fake? Thx
I just purchased a burgundy jumbo from 20B and it’s made in France. Was shocked to see it as I thought all jumbos are made in Italy. But maybe since mine is a seasonal color?

That’s interesting. I bought my black classic Jumbo at Rue Cambon and SA also said MII only for jumbos.
I think this year might be an exception because of Covid. Most slgs are also made in Italy or Spain but I got a couple that were made in France this year. Italy was hit really hard early on so maybe it took the workshops a while to get back online. That is what I am guessing...

Saw a few black ghw jumbos made in France one week ago. So they are out there! I was so surprised.
