Hi. I'm new to Chanel and any advice is greatly appreciated. I've read handbags made in France seem to be better quality, but does the same thought go for their costume jewelry?
I recently bought several of Chanel's costume jewelry and all of them are made in France but one of them is made in Italy. Are the "Made in France" accessories better than the "Made in Italy" pieces?

I don't know a lot about costume jewelry and the only one I own is MIF, but from what I've read and seen, Chanel costume jewelry quality isn't great to begin with, since it is just costume jewelry. I have very low expectations of my one piece from Chanel, and I'm always very wary about buying more.
I have also heard about the costume jewelry quality issues (which is likely why I am questioning if there’s a better country it is made in). It’s also hard for me to resist getting them. I think they’re such beautiful pieces.
Does anyone know if tag says made in italy can the bag still be made in France? I ordered one and just saw the tag made in Italy but really hoping it's made in france inside the bag? Anyone experience this?
Here are my own personal thoughts on this topic:
I find that the MIS are of better quality than MII abd MIF. MIF comes in second and MII comes last.
I have a yen wallet and zippy coin purse MIS and they are amazing. One in caviar and one in lambskin. The caviar is nice (doesn't feel flimsy) and the CC is perfect. The lambskin is buttery soft and the attention to detail is immaculate. There is also a higher thread count for MIS products compared to MII and MIF.
I have a mini rectangular and long wallet MIF. The mini rectangular had some flaws but nothing too off. The wallet has a flaw that the MIS wallet doesn't but once again nothing too off (the zipper pull tab on the MIS has a varnish painted around so the zipper pull doesn't fray whereas the MIF doesn't have the varnish and it frays)
I have a small O case and card holder MII. Both in caviar. The caviar for the o case is not great as it is flimsy and the quilts are way too puffy making it feel/look cheap. The CC on both items are extremely crooked. The caviar on the cardholder however is not too bad.
Overall I would say the MIS pieces are of better quality/detail but thats just from my personal experience. MIF is a hit or miss. I personally would stay away from MII just because of the constant inconsistencies that I have had with the products.

I just bought a black caviar WOC from a Chanel boutique and had to go through three different ones to find one without imperfections. The first two were Made in Italy, one had a patch that clearly was missing the shiny coating/finish under the lap on the inside, and the 2nd had issues where the the edge of the bag seemed to be stubbly where the quilting seam was. The last was Made in France and had a different colored cloth on the inside (black instead of white) and was perfect. I didn't notice the Made in France until much later and even the SA was confused and said I got lucky.
I'm sure the Made in Italy product is great and I was just unlucky -- moral of the story is to check your product thoroughly before you buy.

I don’t think it matters. I was buying a m/l flap and the MIF one in the store was platicky and had a dull caviar and had peeling on the sides and stretching stitching. I just got one from my SA( and it had gorgeous puffy shiny caviar) - MII! So I think it depends on the bag itself...
I saw two made in France black caviar m/l and they were all very dull and shiny
But my made in Italy and made in Spain caviar wocs are puffy and not dull at all!

Honestly i dont think the origin matters because even if it's classic black flap, the leather used are still different season to season. Some seasons are more matte or shiny than others. Thus, i think it'd affect the finishing of each bag
Same here! I know caviar leather are all different, but crazy how dull the caviar is.
