After starting my Mum on LV years ago she has well and truly surpassed my meager collection!

She would probably be closing in on the VIC status but alas no gifts yet! She does always get Champagne and we always try to buy from the same SA. I am always at work when all the special events are on too :crybaby:

I'll be making a few purchases soon so I plan on taking her with me!

This week I received a really sweet handwritten card from the SA who I made my most reason in person purchase from, congratulating me and commenting on the last bag I bought which was actually by mail order, which I found interesting. They’ve also started sending me catalogues just lately – I think because I’ve made lots of purchases in the space of a couple months, which I hadn’t done before.

Sorry for bumping this old thread but I am very interested in being an LV VIC. Last December I spent a bit over $1,200 on a bag but unfortunately it was not in my home city (Hong Kong) and I paid cash so they didn't put my name on the receipt. Would I have to buy my other bags from that city and from the same SA if I don't want to 'start from scratch'? I also see that some of you have are Gucci VIP. Hong Kong has 11 Gucci stores and last year I pre-ordered a limited edition iPad case from the main store but when they got it and called me I went to the store and my credit card was rejected and I was very embarrassed and I ended up not buying it. I recently bought a $450 pair of shoes in a smaller store with a different credit card but I prefer buying in the main one, do you think I'm on some sort of blacklist because of the credit card incident?

Another thing about Hong Kong is that there is usually a queue of 30-45 minutes to get into a luxury store because many clients come from mainland China to get tax-free branded products (these cost nearly 3x as much in mainland China) and it's not unusual to see clients buy over 10 pairs of shoes and bags because they get it for their friends or smuggle it through the border and sell it on the gray market under the Chinese MSRP. It is very difficult to actually talk to an SA in any luxury store in Hong Kong since there are about 5-10 customers for every 1 SA. Do you think I can still be considered a VIC/VIP when 'competing' against this kind of customers?

^ I think being a VIC is more about having a regular SA whom you have a good relationship with.

I doubt you were blacklisted for the credit card incident at Gucci. If you never shop at the main store, I doubt they remember you.

I buy at LV almost once a week but havn't received anything yet but a Champagne bottle on Valentines day and i don't like Champagne :D

I never ordered online though, so i guess its true that you only get catalogues when ordering online? I usually get catalogues put in my LV shopping bag when leaving the store

I am not a VIC, but I got a catalogue for the first time last week when I bought a Mahina L, in store. It is the first time I have received one.

I have also received thank you cards, from when I purchased from 2 different stores in Hawaii last year when I was on holiday.

Question, when a SA pulls up your information at LV when you go to make a purchase, does it show your purchase history from other stores/online?

Yes, but only for the country the store is located in. The store in New York didn't have my data from Germany, and the store in Paris doesn't have my data from New York :D
