I just wanted to comment that the 3 SA's at the Vuitton boutique at Neiman Marcus at Northpark Mall in Dallas were beyond friendly and helpful. I haven't met a SA in the handbag dept at that Neimans that I haven't liked yet.

"It took her forever to help and when I asked for a purse from the back because the ones in front looked kind of dirty, she got all mad. I swear, went back to get it and it took her like an half hour. =( So, she's ringing up the stuff and goes "OH, is this your first Coach purse?" The way she said it seemed like she thought I lived in a dumpster or something. lol "

I can relate...My hubby looks like a biker. Well, he has a Harley and I look like I'm 14. Living in Fl I prefer to be comfortable....shorts and a tee will do it for me. I couldn't get service at a jewelry store in the Vero Beach mall at Xmas. Talk about having people look down their noses at us. But LOL, we get the last laugh as we love to spend what we make and that means some snooty SA is going to lose out on a good sale as our $$ is as good as anyone elses.

Someone else mentioned in another thread that LV sales people are the rudest of any stores... I agree!

I was recently in the San Francisco LV and I was checking out a tennis bag (big tennis fan here). A nice young woman my own age came to help me find the price-tag. An older woman with a German accent came and said, "The racquet does not come with it." NO KIDDING, it's a plastic fake racquet without strings!

I'm like okay and so I pick up the bag to look in its different pockets and the woman repeated louder like I didn't speak English: "You won't get the racquet with the bag. The $2,500 does not include the racquet." Umm... seriously?

I hate being patronized. I feel like its the worst in LV stores! I think it's because I'm really, really nice and considerate to sales associates... often it seems like when you treat them like **** they're quick to do your bidding and are kind of beaten into submission!

Anyone else have similiar experiences in a LV store? I get great service at Chanel... maybe explains why I have more Chanel than LV. :sad2:

Oh Yeah....I had a bad experience too, like they kept correcting me because I didnt pronounce the name of the bag in correct french dialect....and acted like they didnt know what I meant...well I emailed LV and they said they would contact the store and they were sorry and that the SA's should not correct the customer or act that way.

Yes Intlset, I think that was me who said LV SAs are a pain in the ass! My mom is really picky (but so am I)...went into the LV flagship on fifth ave. And received some of the worst service I've ever had! And she was a manager or something also! She flat-out refused to show us additional bags saying that there weren't any left, when a women two people away just came out with the same bag! And her tone wasn't pretty either. I think it was because my mom had just got there from work and didn't look "money".

So the next day, we went back, and got a different SA who was a lot nicer. And my mom ended up buying the L'epanoui pm...with the ***** looking on in surprise (probably because she didn't think my mom could afford it). I hate these people.

Most of the time, I just walk into the stores like I own them, and I find that you get a lot more respect. But if you're nice, they walk all over you. It's sad that this occurs because it's a loss for both sides.

Best service I've ever experienced though? Hermes. I am a fan.

I am convinced that everyone with this experience should Email LV with this info. I think it may change things.

The LV SA's in Galleries Lafayette in Paris are the worst! They are so condescending and I felt really sorry for the people who can't speak English or French, as the SA's just roll their eyes and are really rude. I'm Asian, so after deciding I don't need to be patronised, I grabbed an Asian SA and got my bag. Back in my home country Malaysia, the SA's in the Kuala Lumpur boutiques are touch and go. Sometimes, they'll come off their high horse and attend to you, sometimes they can be a pill. The worst scenario for me was when I went to the store to shoot some pics in my capacity as a journalist a few years ago and you'd think I crawled out from somewhere, as the manager then (have not seen her since) said loudly while the photographer and I were shooting pics, 'are these people done yet?' in this loud sniding tone  . And to think my name is on the LV customer list!!! Now I only buy my diary paper there. Prices in KL suck.

Interesting what someone said about Hermes having the best service. i was in Los Angles visiting last week and had a chance to go to Rodeo Dr. I've always wanted to go and i was so exited to see all of the shops. When my boyfriend and I got closer to the Hermes store I kept walking. I felt so intimidated to go in because I knew that I was not going to buy anything. I didnt want to be treated badly. Looking back I wish I would have went in. Who knows the next time I'll ever be in L.A ?

Funny how I could let just the "thought" of a sales person treating me badly intimidate me out of going into a store.

As for Louis Vuitton I had a few bad experiences at the Houston Galleria store. Each time i complained and one time it was so bad that I complained twice to two different people. I heard on several occasions where other people did the same.

Lately all the SA's are really nice, not just to me but everyone. I swear they must have had some sensitivity trainig or something because now they have the most incredible service.

My local LV is in Boston. All of the associates are kind and attentive. If you tell them you just want to look around, it's "no problem, take your time, etc."
I went to an LV in Italy once - a very tiny boutique - only one salesperson who told us ' No touching the bags..' not very nice until he found out we knew what we wanted and were ready to spend money, then he was a lot nicer.

i found that too, im english and 17 years old and went in to buy my speedy last week in Galleries Lafayette, all the SA's completely ignored me and went to older people. When i finally got somebody she was really funny (snotty) with me but when i showed them the money they were nothing but nice to me.

Also last summer whilst in Galleries Lafayette the woman in Prada shouted at us in the store so we walked out with a not impressed look! Cheeky cow!!
Later that day i went into Gucci to buy some jewellery and they SA was nothing but nice to me in there, but the Gucci in Champs Ellysee (sorry not too sure how to spell it) treated us like scum, they were giving us sly looks out of the corner of their eye as if they didnt trust us, even though my mum had a Gucci handbag on and i had Gucci clothing on and a D&G handbag :oh:

You know, after I read this thread, I was really scared to go into the San Francisco LV to buy my first LV item.. I wanted a pleasant experience as my first and thought that the SAs would be really snooty (especially since I'm only 18 and look like I'm 12. haha).

But I was surprised! Maybe I just got lucky but I got this adorable older Japanese SA who was nothing but nice. She was a bit aggressive (haha, grabbed my bf and I the moment we walked in) but she showed me everything I wanted to see (and more). Very accomodating, didn't push any items that I wasn't interested in, and made me feel very comfortable. It was the best hour of my weekend!! (oh god, my bf was making so much fun of me for having this huge grin the whole time we were walking around the store.)

So.. I'm sorry you had a bad experience at the SF store. I think they might've been nicer to me because we looked really determined to purchase something from the moment we walked in. (She totally knew we were there to spend! lol) I definitely will be going back there and hopefully I can get that kind of service every time.

Funny because I'm so scared to walk into the Chanel boutique though! haha even the one in Neimans scares me! =)

the SA here in LV Amsterdam are the same too.....some are very nice and some not(is like take it or leave it:evil: ) but i think we have to show them who is the boss :hrmm:
Chanel SA are the best here ;) very friendly and helpfull :amuse:

When I bought my Speedy 40 and pochette the SA put both of them in boxes for me and a big huge bag, the mall was closing so she was afraid to let me walk out to my car alone, she told me to get my car and when I pulled up the the door she and the security guard walked to my car and she put the bag in my backseat and said "Thanks hon, hope to see ya soon!!" I felt soooooooooooooo special !!!!

Overall I don't think I have great experiences with LV in Union Square in SF.. Maybe it's because I'm always very casually dressed and I look extremely young without lots of make ups. I had to ask for boxes everytime I made a purchase..

The ones in Palo Alto and ValleyFair (SJ) are another story. I guess not having a lot of tourists traffic means every walk-in counts, especially in silicon valley where everyone are really casual. But I feel very strongly about receiving a good service especially the money I am spending on the bag. I wouldn't buy a bag unless the SAs are nice, simply because I don't want to bring home a bag that has bad feelings attached to it. well i'm kinda silly like that because my major was marketing and i believe a successful product should be a total package, from premium design, quality to customer service.

I have had bad experiences with being ignored at the SF LV. Last time dh and I went to SF we went there to buy my Valentine's present and said to ourselves if they are snotty we won't buy here, if there are nice we will. So we did end up having a really nice SA and I bought my 1st LV. But I swear she was the only helpful, nice person at the store! Anyway, we went to Goyard and the SA there was so helpful and so nice that I ended up writing a thank you to Goyard. Even though we didn't buy anything there (I wish I could have!) he was so knowledgable about the brand and not snooty at all. Now I am saving my $$$$ to go back there. I won't shop if I don't get good service. I think it is because I was a SA for so long (Coach) and I know that it is not difficult to give great service. That's what you're getting paid for and if you don't like the job find a new one!:p
