LV Resellers.... Japan?

Has anybody else noticed the changes at global elady? They now seem to feature bags from several different resellers in addition to elady’s own bags. You may notice it from the way the bags are presented and the prices of course. I don’t know what to think of these changes.

Anyone have experience with next-innovation from ebay or Ginza Japan?

I purchased a few items from next-innovation. Their shipping is super fast and USPS requires a signature upon delivery.

I got a Toiletry 15 and Agenda MM (Taiga) and it's exactly how it was described (you can see my post in the clubhouse). The Toiletry 15 is from 1991 and the Agenda is from 2001. They don't smell like mothballs or cigarettes or anything strange. They smell like it's been in storage. For me, a little fabreeze and TLC makes them almost like new!

I don't like the changes at all. In addition to what you already mentioned: They no longer list the serial numbers for Chanel items; they don't have a photo of the item with a mannequin so you can't judge size as easily; and worst of all, you can't save your purchase history to the site.

I just looked at global elady site and the changes are scary. It appears they are now a marketplace like ebay. This is what I noticed:
  • Prices are ridiculous and far reaching with pricing higher or a little less than Louis Vuitton prices, for items described as pre-owned.
  • Many of the listings don't have the proper style name of the bag in the description (i.e. Neverfull, Pochette Metis Reverse, Bloomsbury, etc.).
  • Condition described as "Opened (never used)" -IMO Japanese resellers, who are also tpf members, have read and are taking advantage of buyers comments ( "looks brand new", "looks as if it's never been used", "in pristine condition" ) and describing and pricing the bags accordingly.
With Louis Vuitton decreasing production, limiting stock and frustrating buyers while in contrast foreign markets are increasing production and sales of faked goods in addition to exploiting pricing, the future perspective of the LV consumer market will be very interesting.

I bought an LV bag last week from eLady. It's been stuck in U.S. customs for 5 days. Is this normal? Just wondering if anyone know how long it usually takes to get through customs. Thanks.

Hi ladies,
I was wondering is there a set guideline how much we will need to pay for customs fees by the price of the LV items shipped from overseas (Japan)? I read so many of you ladies love to purchase from Japanese sellers but I don't know if it is too much risk since the items coming from overseas and with customs issues.

I have bought 41 pieces of LV and several Hermes from Japanese sellers and up until this morning was extremely happy with them. Not so much anymore. Just a heads up with this particular seller. I bought a LV Stephen Sprouse Roses NVF from Brandoff, a company I had purchase from before. This was the most expensive pre owned bag I had ever bought. Purchased it yesterday and this morning I got this......After posting in another group I am in, I found out this bait and switch tactic is common with this seller. I would not be upset if the bag they offered today had been a better bag but it was considerably worst. The bag I bought had little to no wear on the corners(only 1 corner had slight very slight wear) placement was beautiful, light patina and no stains and bright interior. the bag they offered had stains to the interior, bad wear on corners, funny grayish green cast to vachetta and trim was cracked and split in places. Just a heads up when dealing with this Japanese seller.
Did you end up exchanging? I recently purchased a Neverfull PM in Damier Ebene from this seller as well. Just waiting for it to arrive in the mail..... I'm hoping this doesn't happen to me.

A search on bait and switch will show posts on the topic from as far back as 2006. Not only do posts describe situations where sellers are suspected of switching bags (posting pictures of authentic bag and shipping fakes), but with buyers returning fake bags as returns.

I stopped purchasing from Japanese websites global elady et al and especially eBay Japanese sellers because a bag I received was absolutely not the same bag in the listing and was indeed a "bait and switch".

Japanese sellers and affiliates (who may also be tPF members) know that buyers use pictures to authenticate bags (on tPF and via private authentication services). Posting pictures of an authentic bag and shipping a (barely used, pristine condition, better than described, almost new) fake bag is easy and a surreptitious distribution network of counterfeit goods.

Something has changed at Elady and hopefully it's just growing pains, but still enough to cause a pause. Spent several hours going over pictures to find the best quality and price combination on a Louis Keepall. Placed the order and received an email the following day that the order had been cancelled because somehow the item had been damaged while being packaged for shipment. How do you damage something by putting it in a box? So we have ordered a different bag at almost twice the price since they're running a 10% off sale. This was ordered on the 24th so I didn't expect a response right away since Japan is on a different time and day. Maybe I'm expecting too much but we are on the 28th and no email on the status like we're use to with Elady. We'll keep you posted on how this goes.

I am looking for a preloved Speedy on eBay (there are many!). It would be my second LV, but since I don't know how the style will work for me, I want to buy preloved.

Many of the resellers are from Japan & are advertising the speedy's as "damaged" or heavily used and the pictures show minor things like only wear to the piping. The bags are actually in great vintage shape.

Some also have nearly 100% positive feedback.

Has anyone had any experience with buying LV from Japanese resellers?
I have bought quite a few pieces from Japanese Seller’s. Like you mentioned Seller’s with nearly 100% positive reviews are the best. And those that are top rated Seller’s (over a certain amount of positive reviews.) Make sure you thoroughly examine the picture as sometimes not everything is listed. Some Seller’s have general guides. Auctions are amazing as you can get an amazing price!

^ Best of luck!
My purchases with Elady have always been hassle-free, but they happened before the web site changed.
I just purchased a neverfull mm in de with rose ballerine interior and it came so fast! I am very impressed with Elady and will most definitely buy again from her. I bought off her global website after reading another thread that if you're a first time buyer you get a certain % off. Very happy with my purchase!
