Hey girls, did you heard about the seller called "brandearauction" ?
I am interested in a Manhattan PM and this seller has a few on good condition.
He is on eBay since 2008, ships from Japan but is located in US ? But the reviews are good for such a long time on eBay
What do you think ?

most Japanese sellers do not sell "fake" bags because the laws in Japan are extremely harsh and the penalties severe
I agree with this! All my items purchased from Japan have been authentic, most even offer great return policies, plus it seems like they always have arrived to me in better condition than described! I've found some great deals this way on leather pieces!!!

Hey guys, I have a total love to vintage/preloved LV! I love owning a bag that has a story behind it (even if I have to make that story up myself lol)

But one thing I constantly notice is that a very large amount of resellers seem to come from Japan!

Does anyone know the reasoning behind this? Also do you think buying from a Asian reseller increases your risk of buying a fake??

Would love to hear your thoughts

Louis Vuitton has a strong history with Japan. The late 19th century saw a cultural period in France known as "Japonisme," a strong interest in all things from Japan. In fact, it is said that the monogram flowers are inspired by Japanese designs. In turn, Louis Vuitton products became extremely popular in Japan in the 1970s, leading Louis Vuitton to opening stores in the Land of the Rising Sun. Ever since, Louis Vuitton has remained very successful with Japanese clients, even producing many special items for that country. All of this to say that it is not surprising to see so many resellers from Japan.

As usual, one should get the item authenticated before purchasing. And take into consideration potential custom fees when importing a product from abroad.

i buy from Japanese resellers a lot. as long as you do your homework and authenticate before purchase you are usually going to be ok. and i stick to only resellers with a strong history of sales of authentic items. and if they have a long-standing online business with contact information and etc. i look for the same things with a Japanese reseller as with any store/brand. a history of sales, reliable contact information, and some English-language skills help, too, in case of a problem. i have purchased from Japan maybe 8 times and every item has been authentic and in better condition than described - their interpretation of 'poor condition' is closer to 'very good.' they seem to err on the side of caution. you do have to wait a long time for items to arrive through customs, especially during peak mailing times, and custom fees are random, but can be high. in 8 times i paid once, and it was a hefty $100, making the bag not such a bargain. don't be afraid, but be smart before you buy  my first purchase was about $100, in case i made a mistake or it was fake... keep that initial purchase very low imo, to 'test' what you're doing before jumping in with a crazy 5K purchase or something.

I went to Tokyo this spring and the amount of preowned LV bags is overwhelming. The reason you see a lot of resellers from Japan is that the consignment stores have A LOT of bags to offer at amazing prices. The laws are very strict in regards to selling fake merchandise so if there's an Asian country I trust, that's Japan. This could be one reason but, as always, be careful with what you buy online. You never know.

This would probably explain why Japanese resellers are always a lot cheaper than others.
Resellers from Japan will often sell a Keepall for about $500-$600 dollars whereas a seller from the USA is normally $1k or over

I have herd this about Japanese resellers and having extremely high quality standards

I have bought 41 pieces of LV and several Hermes from Japanese sellers and up until this morning was extremely happy with them. Not so much anymore. Just a heads up with this particular seller. I bought a LV Stephen Sprouse Roses NVF from Brandoff, a company I had purchase from before. This was the most expensive pre owned bag I had ever bought. Purchased it yesterday and this morning I got this......After posting in another group I am in, I found out this bait and switch tactic is common with this seller. I would not be upset if the bag they offered today had been a better bag but it was considerably worst. The bag I bought had little to no wear on the corners(only 1 corner had slight very slight wear) placement was beautiful, light patina and no stains and bright interior. the bag they offered had stains to the interior, bad wear on corners, funny grayish green cast to vachetta and trim was cracked and split in places. Just a heads up when dealing with this Japanese seller.
