So I am going to Hawaii in a few weeks and have been debating purchasing the NF there (money seems to go like water on holidays). I just did my sums and it seems that if I purchased the bag here and claimed the GST at Customs the bag will be around $80 cheaper.....

anyway food for thought (or homework) for travellers and the Aussie girls.

Hello lovelies,

Does anyone know when the Ikat will be available in Australia? I've had a look at the website but couldn't find it.

If it is already available, do you know how much the NF is in AUS dollars?

Thanks so much LV Lovers! :D

It think its best to call or visit a store. I've found that past releases take weeks to update on the Australian site however I had already purchased it in the store

Hi there! I called the LV hotline just last week to inquire about the release of the IKAT neverfull, sorry I forgot the exact date but I think it's either April 16 or 20 something. They also said its available in the Mm & Gm size. The mm is around $1,300+ while the Gm is $1,400 something. Hope it helps a bit. :)

Hi Aussie mate, just wondering has any of u bought something over $1000 from overseas need to pay custom tax...?if i bought around aud2200 ..how much i need to pay for custom
how about some of the seller marked as gift in the custom declaration form..?

GST is paid on the Value of the Taxable Importation (VoTI).

The VoTI is the sum of:

1. the Customs value (Cval) +
2. transport and insurance cost (or postage and insurance) (T&I) +
3. any duty payable, plus WET (if applicable).
The information below on calculating duty and taxes is provided as a guide only.

Example 1: An importation of multiple low value packages of goods (for example, six packages of video cameras each valued at A$200) (One consignment)
A$

Customs value (6 x $200) (Cval) = 1200.00

Customs duty (Duty) @ 5% of Cval = 60.00 (Payable)

International transport and insurance or postage (T&I) = 150.00 e.g

Value of the Taxable Importation (VoTI) (Cval+Duty+T&I) SUM = 1410.00

Goods and Services Tax (GST) @ 10% of the VoTI = 141.00 (Payable)

Total payable Duty + GST = 201

So a bag at $2200 would be:

5% of the total price you paid = $110 which is the Cval and is payable

then they would add the cost of shipping and insurance - e.g. $100

Then they would calculate the Voti - 2200 + 110 + 100 = 2410

from this total the GST is calculated at 10% = 241.00 (payable)

Duty payable is Cval 110 + GST 241 = $351.00

Yay that was fun.... Hope that makes sense.

Hi there, I might be moving to Queensland next year...I currently own 2 bags and 1 pochette and will be buying more to upgrade my collection...silly question, will I have to pay some taxes for the bags I own?

Ok I'm a bit excited lv Australia has online shopping now finally! No more having to call a number during business hours to make an order. I did say I wouldn't buy without going in store as I had a problem with an item sent when I ordered through phone. But having online ordering now is going to be really tempting!!

Hi there!

Just thought I would touch base and get your advice on purchasing pre-loved LV in Australia?

I of course know of Gumtree but that is about all apart from Ebay...do you know If we can use Craiglist etc...

Xx

Hi,

I have seen Gumtree become the avenue for those who used to sell their fakes on ebay - be very careful with gumtree. I have seen some authentic bags there, but make sure you physically go to look at the bag, and that you know the bag well to spot a fake.

In brisbane there is a show called 'Designer Archives', and they are on instagram, and post what they have as new arrivals every day or two. They have a good shop with even a birkin in it!! They are in the Wintergarden if you get to Brissy often.

I haven't seen many cosignment stores in Melb/Sydney though I think there are one or two online and based in Australia.

The trouble is, they tend to be more expensive for pre-loved than the U.S cosignment stores.

As Japan is so close to Oz, I have bought items from eLady ect and they have arrived with a week, very good service and great items. They sell through ebay.com.au..

I don't know about crag list, but I have gotten the impression it is the American version of Gumtree.....not sure if we can even buy from there....
Hope this helps.

:smile1:
