I have some downtime between projects so I’ve been doing some research on the burning question of whether Major Johnny is married. Thanks to Getty Images and YouTube screen grabs I have resolved that … the situation is unclear.

In conclusion, either Major Johnny was married in November and isn’t now; or that was not a wedding ring; or he doesn’t always wear his wedding ring. So I am unable to draw any conclusions about his marital status. What I can conclude is that he has shapely, large hands, and we know what they say about THAT.

We on PF now know handsome, kilt clad Jonny Thompson is married
to the lovely Caroline and they have a son, two dogs and a horse. And, he’s now a Lt Col since about Oct 3 ,2022.
I thought I put it here in case a new member was scrolling by.

The pictures are soooo distracting I might have missed something, do we have recordings of him talking?

I don't think they look anything alike. Their facial structure (cheekbones etc) and noses are completely different. Even their skin tones are not the same.

Personally I think Prince William is more handsome, but I'll be honest that the kilt photos of MJ have me shook. Thinking about ordering a kilt for hubby, lol.

The Saffron Kilt in Ireland
The kilt most traditionally associated with Ireland is known as the Saffron Kilt. These were the first kind worn by the Irish military and are still the most widely worn today. The Saffron Kilt is mustard yellow in colour and often has shamrock appliques adorning the pleat.

I love kilts, but that is one ugly color for a kilt. Maybe if it was the background color for a plaid it would be more than just tolerable. I am 23% Irish and usually love anything Irish, but not this.

Maybe hes been given time off to rest, family time or for Christmas?? I was hoping he'd be with KC thru the coronation
in May tho I think his 3 years are up in March.. ??? Just a guess, Just speculation .... ?

Jonny deserves a break and a chance to rest. His job requires that he work harder than the King to make sure the King's day goes smoothly. He must take care of every little detail and be there to oversee all of it from early in the AM until late at night finalizing plans for the next day and planning the days ahead. I'm hoping he will be back in the next week or so and will remain until after the coronation. I guess we will just have to wait & see.

I am very sorry, but I prefer JT in kilt.His majesty has a lot of others uniforms to pose with.

It's a flattering picture of Charles, but like you I prefer to see Jonny in a kilt. He really rocks that kilt!

They will take care to remove JT from the "official" photos and videos and to film from such angles that he will not be seen to much.
There is only one Sun in the Universe and that must be the "King".
It will not be anymore a photo like this, below, who brought JT in the center of attention.

I think Charles has mellowed and no longer feels the kind of jealousy he felt over the attention paid to Diana when he was younger. He seemed to be in that mode by the time Diana died and he went to Paris to bring her body back to the UK. Charles and much of the family seems to be quite fond of Jonny, why else would they have put him in such a central position right behind the Royal family in all the processions after HM the Queen died? It seems that Charles has a wicked sense of humor that I didn't know about before he became king and I think he enjoys watching what has happened with Jonny and probably teases him about it. I hope KC keeps him there until after the coronation, Jonny will be a big help since he already understands all the protocol and is used to planning Royal events (at least the ones on a smaller scale.

I tend to agree Seerose. He appears dedicated to Charles as he was to the Queen and there seems a genuine fondness between them. I think that he is just more comfortable with his role and maybe more confident as a result. I am sure he is aware of his popularity with the ladies and being human, I am sure that would give his ego a boost as well. But, as always, we can only speculate as to what goes on in his mind. He is good at his job, he always looks great and we love to see him. I try not to think beyond that as a rule.

I also try to not think beyond that, but he is so gorgeous and appears so friendly & down to earth and unconscious of his looks that it's hard to not keep staring or going to River's video several times a day just to look at him. In fact I'm going to go look at that now.

I think KC III is the most important person in the world to him when he is on duty. Often, that duty is 24/7.

It is not about 3 years limit,this is usually for an equerry position, it is something else.
I think after 3 years (in March 2023) he will become another position, better than this, in the Royal Household, which will not be time limited.
I have a feeling about that.

As long its what he wants to do! He may well want to go back to a Regiment.?
Now it would be as Lt Col. He may want to rise to higher rank, General or what ever high Scottish rank is ?? He’s excellent in the Army TV interviews. Seems he’s good at it all. I’ve listened to his Scots Army 2019 TV interview prob 40-50 times.!
It’s been nice seeing him! He was easy to spot in the kilt. I was looking forward to the coronation! Looks as if Charles would need Jonny??? Best of luck JT.

I have noticed that on the last few occasions the King has been out and about neither Jonny or the King's Private Secretary Sir Clive Alderton have been there. They usually are there together so I do wonder if they are dealing with the planning for the Coronation which is only 5 months away.
Jonny was at Catherine's Carol Concert last year so it will be interesting to see if he appears at this year' Concert which is fairly soon.
