Has it ever taken 9 months or longer to get your bag back from LV repair services?!

In March 2022 I sent my W tote in for melted glazing on the handles which they offered to repair for free, I’m grateful, but unfortunately after being quoted an Oct 2022 return date I now received an email estimating repairs to be completed in Feb 2023, yikes!!! Seems like a very long time.

When you find out, please let me know.
Dropped off my bag at LV in Maryland for cracked vachetta strap replacement: Nov. 2021.
Estimated date of completion: Jan. 2022.
Revised estimated date of completion: June 2022.
Received call July 2022 saying they were awaiting a part to complete the repair. I only wanted a leather strap replaced. What part did they need?
Today: Still no bag. Website lists my repair as “In progress.” SA told me repair times are as long as 1 year due to Covid-era backlogs.
No idea what the deal is.
I finally got back bag back on 10/18, 6 days shy of a year, they waived my entire repair cost ($700) and I will say my bag looks AMAZING! I just can’t believe it took so long, when I was in the store waiting on my repair there was another woman picking up a new leather repair on her neverfull, I asked her how long it took and she said TWO MONTHS! I was like oh well that’s nice…C2E72E6F-DD2C-47EA-A0A9-D3D272C57D18.jpegC2E72E6F-DD2C-47EA-A0A9-D3D272C57D18.jpeg4C2E47BC-3977-4EFF-9630-762EF254E958.jpeg87AEC6E7-C2F7-4A21-BD81-9974E453F265.jpeg1C33CC6C-0B82-4BCD-A5D0-690E7B0D6B76.jpegDC06B8F5-4FFE-4E57-BAC1-68427CF83E19.jpeg

My goodness! It looks gorgeous! And congrats on the waived fee. We’ll see what happens with me - my latest estimated completion date is tomorrow (which will be 3 weeks shy of a year!). Fingers crossed!

Oh WOW! I hate that for you because i know how much it sucks for it to take so long, have you been in contact with client services at all throughout this?

Yes, my CA and/or client services have updated me every few months just to say the repair has been delayed due to Covid/supply chain. Given that others have received their repairs in a matter of months since Covid, that doesn’t seem to be accurate. Anyway, 10/22 has come and gone and still I wait...

I definitely dont think that is accurate at all….have you been talking to your CA from the store or called client services? What ended up working the best for me was finally getting the care service associate at my stores information (interestingly enough, a woman who used to work at my LV store, she moved and transferred to Dallas location, she had been seeing what was going on with my repair, personally reached out to me via text and sent me the care service associate’s information which is what finally got the ball rolling on giving me the correct information of why my bag hadn’t been ready for so long and that’s who actually waived my repair costs for me. It turned out that my bag had been finished in august but didn’t pass the LV quality assessment so when that happens it goes back into repair.

I’m sorry you’re dealing with this I know it’s such an annoyance especially when we pay what we do for their merchandise, and pay for a repair!

To complete my 13-month repair saga, I popped into LV to pick up my 2023 agenda refill, and to my surprise MY REPAIRED BAG WAS THERE! SA said it happened to arrive today. I’m so glad, because - as I mentioned - this Bedford was my very first LV bag which was a gift from my mom more than a decade ago. Sentimentally priceless. LV waived the fee because it took so long. And the new straps look great. Merry Christmas to me!560BE001-F28E-4B8C-ABB1-D6EB5E002074.jpeg

Well they totally ruined my Danube………. I have an appointment on Monday to ask what the hell happened :/ trust me - it’s far worse IRL and wonky and bubbly and slimmer than before…… larger on top and smaller in the bottom… crooked…. I payed 550 usd to get this fixed and that is more than what I payed for this bag in vintage mint condition with good patina, but I damaged the sides, the leather was tearing off so I needed them changed, so I decided go change all vachetta and start over with my own patina and make sure it was scratch free so I could sell it one day… now I cant even sell it for a decent price. Looks like I got it on aliexpress 6B1BEE81-5F8A-4BF8-AF46-94A240460453.jpeg966DFD0E-E18A-4DDA-81B5-E58E209A8446.jpegBB0F0D32-A8E4-4894-928C-163053F54556.jpeg

Has anyone in Europe been experiencing the same delay? I have a PSM being repaired by LV. It needed a new zip and the little tabs at the side. I dropped it in on the 1st of July and was told 8 weeks. I have had no word except that they were waiting in a part. The store have asked for an update repeatedly but have been ignored since October. I’m really frustrated and annoyed. If I had known it was going to be 30+ weeks instead of the 8 weeks that was supposed, I would have left it. It was still perfectly usable as the zip was just a little detached from the lining. I am getting no answers or updates at all! I understand in the USA they are often sent to Paris and given longer lead times but I’m in Ireland. I sent my Palais to be repaired before that, during covid and it was back in 3 weeks!
