Louis Vuitton repair turn-around time

For my recent repair (strap had broken off a bag and I was having the leather patches at either side replaced, plus an interior pocket re-lined) it took roughly 12 weeks from dropping off to being told it was ready for collection. In the UK. I believe that’s consistent with what they estimated it would be.

I have a Sully I sent in for repair in April 2022. The glazing on the vachetta was peeling off. They are repairing it free of cost but they keep moving back the date of repair due to sourcing the material. The bag is navy empreinte with red glazing. It is now supposedly end of Jan 2023 but haven’t heard anything.

Thanks so much for the reply! I completely understand the covid delays etc but the lack of updates when asked and zero contact from the repairs centre is such bad business. It’s almost 30 weeks to the day now, at what was said to take 8 weeks.

30 weeks is insane. I was told to drop off my things mid-autumn before the XMas rush, cos even at the repair facility they seem to have more to do then. But you left the bag there in July...
I heard that there are certain repairs that can take 9-12 months, but for those they say exactly that in advance.

Agreed, that is absolutely ridiculous. I hope they resolve it for you soon! I would be looking for a discount on the repair too!

I've dropped my valentines key pouch for repair (replacement of zipper and button) at the beginning of summer last year and the forecasted repair time was 6-8 weeks. It took more then 3 months until I got a notification that my repair was ready for pick up…
Hope that you’ll get your PSM back soon! :hugs:

Thank you, every time I ask about it they just fob me off, first saying the update is waiting for spare parts, when I push to ask when this update came it’s the same one from October!

That is so annoying! I am ok with a bit longer than estimated times but 30 weeks when 8 weeks advised and never being given an update or even contacted? I’m in Ireland, we only have one store and I’ve asked for a number of updates. They just keep saying they haven’t heard any more.

Thank you, that’s what I thought! 30+ weeks for a tab and zip replacement is crazy! I had ordered new straps but they are already ready, the last time I was talking to SA they are ready, it’s the bag we are waiting on!

I have sent luggage for repair in the past and it was months also. I asked for some loaners, but it was a hard NO. LOL

Recently, I sent a couple smaller items (pochette) and they said 3-5 months. Perhaps this a good way to make me just buy new. It is frustrating to say the least

Maybe that’s the aim, buy new! If I knew the timescale was not 8 weeks I definitely would have held off, even send it to the local repairer here, he is amazing! They have said they will have an update for me on Monday. My main issue with it is the complete lack of response and actual updates on timeline, it’s quite insulting and disrespectful not to reply to a client. I will say CA’s in the store has tried very hard to get answers from the Repair centre to very little avail, having me calling in asking for updates is getting embarrassing at this stage.

Yes, I really am beginning to think that is their aim - I liked the days when you could walk into LV store with your repairs. Not sure about other areas, but Florida now tells you to go through the online portal.

I wouldn’t feel embarrassed for continually asking. They are providing a service & should be held accountable.

The longer Delays could be that they are no longer in house & are 3rd party repair services. (Just guessing at this point)

IF I had a reputable alternative like you, I would defiantly go there for repairs. I can’t even find someone locally who knows how to clean a LV, let alone repair. Learned the hard way on that one ☹️

Things have defiantly changed over the last few years at LV. I just buy online now & If I don’t like it, I send it back. Although, I do miss the days of casually browsing & trying on before purchasing. With that said, I wouldn’t be buying IF they had timely repairs - LOL

Hang in there, the squeaky wheel gets the oil

My LV repair (magnet replacement) is currently showing a completion date of June 29th :frown::frown::frown::frown: Dropped off last month. I'm in Los Angeles and they said they had a repair team here in California. Has anyone had a recent (and decent) repair time here in the States?

Well I got the text to say it arrived on Thursday. I went in yesterday to collect the PSM and when it was brought out I was surprised to see that they changed it so the zip was now exposed, as opposed to the original. I had a really good look over it and they had left the old zip attached area and just elongated it so it looked like a double lip around the zip. It looked like they replaced the front panel, however I was dismayed to see that they had left two rather large unfinished/cracked canvas areas. I didn’t take a picture but I’ve added an image to show where it was. It was really obvious and nasty. They had also melted a bit of canvas at the side as they reattached it. When I pointed it out to the SA he said “Well what do you want me to do?” I said I’d like to compare it with another PSM to show him as he wasn’t really believing it was wrong. He said they had none to compare it with. I asked to speak to the manager as she had taken in the repair. She took one look and said “I’ll get a fresh one to compare” and suddenly there was another in stock. This really showed how bad the repair was and she was horrified. She was amazing and really professional. So now to see what happens next. But really horrified by the repair that took over 6 months and destroyed the bag. The area highlighted was basically a big tear on either side. It was a big gash that would definitely tear as you bend back the front panel. The melted canvas was all puckered and melted, it was on the side of the bag where the sides meet.
