Here’s the reveal….before and after pics. My petite noe from 1991 (MIF)! (Old style without the full vachetta band at the bottom which I always preferred.) After years of being well loved, most of the leather at trim and strap were dry and cracked. It was time for a change! Took almost 4 months to get it back from LV… All new vachetta, strap and drawstring. They added a D-ring inside. All the canvas and rivets are original but lost the date code . …..

I love the large drawstring bag “ Louis Vuitton” it arrived in. Even received a personalized handwritten note from the person who repaired my bag (?!). Nice touch!

Instead of the Petite Noe strap, I might just use the longer 16mm mono strap that I’ve been using on both my mono Loop and PA mono. Makes it more carefree and I can wear crossbody. Too much vachetta scares me!
Wow !! This doesn't even look like the same bag...it looks awesome !! So nice to get an extra "lifeline" on your bag. It's what makes LV timeless and iconic. Congrats !!!

Hi, just wonder how much this cost you, if you don't mind sharing. I can't find from the repair forum.

Hi all!
Wow am I happy I saw this forum, so I live in the DC area, I have a Keepall Bandouliere 60, my mother purchased it in 1999, she used it maybe a few times a year, always stored it perfectly, anyway fast forward to 2018 she gave it to me! LOVE IT. Perfect condition, canvas like new, perfect patina. I use it ALL the time, well summer 2020 mid covid, I had put so much stuff in it (and maybe a couple bottles of wine ;) ) the right side got snagged on a luggage cart and the leather around the D ring ripped. I took it to LV at Tysons in McLean Va 6-25-20 right when I got home to get the right leather shoulder strap attachment , and leather side piping re done and a new shoulder strap. They said estimated return would be mid August. I was stunned when I got it back on 7-25.

Fast forward to October 23rd 2021 due to COVID I hadn't been traveling much but I decided, the canvas is perfect, the entire right side, piping, leather, leather shoulder attachment, D ring, and shoulder strap were brand new leather so I took it to the same Louis store in Tysons because I wanted all the leather to be new so my entire bag would look brand new and patina evenly. I asked them to redo all the leather going around the bag and handles, and the left side leather and piping and leather shoulder strap attachment redone. The woman agreed, said it would be brand new when I got it back, no later than January 3rd. 8-10 weeks, I thought no problem what could go wrong, can't wait to get it back.

IT IS AUGUST 11TH AND I STILL DO NOT HAVE IT BACK!!!! After 1/3 I made multiple calls to no avail to the store, I sent multiple emails to no avail, then the updated date of restitution changed to April 3rd, again nobody had called me back, I had a few generic email replies but the customer service agents couldn't give me an answer as to what the delay was which honestly made me nervous but then April 3rd came. Nothing. I have had so many requests put in for the manager of the store to call me since April and I haven't gotten a single call. I have sent so many emails and called so many times I cannot count until a wonderful CS agent named Sofia told me how she was shocked about the situation. She gave her schedule and told me to call and ask specifically for her when I did because she would help me out and ask around.

Again, its 8/11. I sent an email last week because I haven't heard anything from Sofia, I've tried calling to speak with her but she gets left a message, I get no call back, I just called and spoke to Kayana who sent a message to her to call me, put me on hold to look into my account and then she said her computer froze she needed to disconnect and call right back, not even 5 minutes. It has been 30 minutes now. I got an email reply yesterday that said:

In 2 months they'll have had my bag for a year. Can someone PLEASE tell me what to do, and after all this time, the luggage I had to buy so I had something to carry during business trips and vacations since 10/2021, the horrible lack of communication, customer service, I don't get it. I worked in customer service for ten years in my 20's. I am always very friendly but yeah.... sorry for the novel. I'm hoping I get my moms bag back.

Best Wishes,
Sam

p.s. I'm sorry I went on for so long and if I sound like I am whining, I hope someone reading this understands and can offer some advice.

Can someone PLEASE tell me what to do
When you find out, please let me know.
Dropped off my bag at LV in Maryland for cracked vachetta strap replacement: Nov. 2021.
Estimated date of completion: Jan. 2022.
Revised estimated date of completion: June 2022.
Received call July 2022 saying they were awaiting a part to complete the repair. I only wanted a leather strap replaced. What part did they need?
Today: Still no bag. Website lists my repair as “In progress.” SA told me repair times are as long as 1 year due to Covid-era backlogs.
No idea what the deal is.

It’s nice they at least called you! They said the same to me about backups in March about the leather but the just got items back in stock…..I hate being rude to any customer service agent bc it’s not their fault i just cannot believe how they’ve made zero attempts to contact me. I hope your bag gets back TJ you asap!

Louis Vuitton has had my 16 year old bag for over a year for strap replacement. The store manager sent me a message that said they will give me credit towards a new bag since parts cannot be located. Does anyone know how they determine the value of the bag? It is a 16 year old bag that has been discontinued.

The cost for a strap is $240 I had mine replaced last year for my keepall bandouliere 60. What kind of bag is it for?

They still have my bag and oddly a woman that used to work at the LV store I use texted me out of the blue and she’s helping me get in contact with the repair specialist at the store. If it’s a discontinued bag than you can claim it’s vintage and they’ve lost a treasured item of yours they need to pay you the equal value of what you paid for it when you got it but with inflation

Oh no! I’m so sorry. I too am awaiting a strap replacement repair that is coming up on the one-year mark, and I worry that this might be the response I ultimately get. My bag was a gift from my mother from the early 2000s. Discontinued item, irreplaceable bag. I wish I’d never done the repair. Will be following the responses to your question as I brace myself.

I also wish I had never done the repair. I didn’t even know repairs were an option and did not go into the store seeking out a repair. The straps were in decent condition. I was using the bag when I went in the store to look at possibly buying another bag. I said how much I really like the style and wanted to know if they had anything similar in stock. They had limited items in stock at the time. The SA told me I could have the straps replaced on my bag for $300 and it would look like new again. When I went back the next day to drop of my bag she entered my style# in the system and said it will be $480. I agreed to pay the higher amount because I really like the bag. I still haven’t heard back from the store about the exchange. I will keep you posted when I do.

Here are pics of my recently repaired Cabas Alto and Montsouris GM. Both look brand new! Even though I only requested a leather replacement on the Montsouris, the hardware and the fabric straps also appear to have been replaced! Had to wait a while (sent them both in Aug, and got them back in Dec & Feb, respectively).

Can I ask if you wanted the nails changed or did they do that without you paying for it or ordering it? I have a Danube 21 Monogram in for vachetta replacement but I did not think about the brass at all....

The repair quotes only stated that LV would “replace all outside leather parts” on both bags, but they replaced the hardware on both (in addition to the leather). They probably have to replace the hardware since they likely destroy it when taking the bag apart for the repair. Hth!!

14 weeks ? My quote was double that @ 28 weeks - I wonder if peeps are refurbishing rather than buying new due to the crazy costs !! ?? I guess I'll see it right before Christmas season

My full vachetta replacement on the Speedy 25 I sent in Feb. 2022 was exactly 6 months to the date until it got back to me. The original was MIU, the new tag states MIF but they retained the SD (USA code) and original year in the interior tag. They will not replace interior vachetta, I was told.
