My LV repair (magnet replacement) is currently showing a completion date of June 29th :frown::frown::frown::frown: Dropped off last month. I'm in Los Angeles and they said they had a repair team here in California. Has anyone had a recent (and decent) repair time here in the States?

I was planning to bring my new to me bumbag in for hardware replacement but after reading how long the wait times are forget it.

I was just told 16 weeks for a messenger bag piping and leather replacement. I expect it to be much longer but we shall see. Maybe I should stop expecting that since we are near the end/done with COVID? I hate how repairs are not all inclusive for the employees, as in, not all items for repair are shown as being quotable. They have to be sent out and they quote/give it to you for free. As such, there was more leather trim on my bag that needs replaced which I'm sure the artisan will do, it's just the point, I would like 100% certainty.

It was much much faster!!! I’m in LA and apparently there is a LV repair place here in CA. I think that helped!

So after realizing that LV repair could take up to 6 months and I didn't want to have to replace the whole vachetta strap and have it not match the rest of the bag....and reminding myself that I kind of wanted to use this bag as a beater anyway, I pulled off the Mylar tape (which matched really well but didn't really lay flat), pulled off whatever I could or the remaining original plating, and spray painted the piece of hardware and this is how it came out. It is more matte and less shiny so not a perfect match but at least it should stay put a while. I'm fine with this. Not ideal but whatever. I'm ok with it.
