Lets talk Lanvin

Also I would like to ask another question. I notice there are a lot of variations between the bags (such as calfskin/buffalo etc) some have two leather handles others have only one. Are these seasonal variations or are the difference made within the same season?

I don't mean to quote myself, but does anyone know the answer to this? thanks!

I am a little (more like A LOT) Lanvin obsessed at the moment.

Sorry I'm obsessed with Lanvin, but this new double zip was posted on FarFetch and the charm is not the Jeanne Lanvin and Daughter Logo, it's just the initials JL and the flagship address (below). Why the switch?

I don't know the answer, but from the pictures on the link it seems one side is JL and one side is the pic. My Happy bag has the same thing. Is this different to what they used to do?

I'm not sure how they used to be. Most of the second hand bags I've come across don't have that charm at all, which is a big part of the reason I haven't bought a Lanvin yet: I'm too afraid of purchasing an illegal fake. Good to know about the double sided coin

very surprised to discover a Lanvin bag at my local THMaxx store this evening!
It was the TJMaxx in Countryside, Illinois (708/354-5113)

The Amalia Cross-Body Bag (currently retails for $1750)
It came with the original tag (still attached) sleeper and care card
The chain was wrapped in tissue as was the Lanvin charm --
the color was just gorgeous (Bordeuax) and the leather amazing!
The bag looked flawless too!!

I seriously considered getting it, but I don't know how I feel about the style
It was $1299.99

Oh wow! I am surprised that was found at TJ Maxx in excelllent condition. Usually, they get so scuffed up once they hit discount stores. I don't own any Lanvin but I definitely want one someday.

Did you decide to definitely pass?

I started a thread a few days ago and my Lanvin will be delivered today:

I couldn't believe it! I did a search for Lanvin handbags and this one came up on a search engine, but not when you got to Bluefly.com. Very odd, but I clicked on the link on thefind.com and it took me right there and I snagged the last one. And they have a 10% off sale today :smile1: Why wouldn't it show up in the search on bluefly.com but show up on thefind.com? I am not complaining because $1,200 for a new leather Lanvin is a dream come true.

I just sold a green Bbag because I was looking for something a little more structured so I have been looking for a timeless style greenish handbag and this Lanvin fit the bill.

I love this model and the olive color is fabulous :)

IKWYM re: scuffed up bags
I put a Celine Classic Box on layaway (I almost fainted when I found it there!) and it was pretty heavily marked up. I'm hoping some conditioner will smooth some of the markings. Most of the other bags I've found there have been in pretty amazing shape -- like I said, the Lanvin was practically flawless. I would think w/that delicate leather it would be marked up, but it wasn't (at least anything very obvious) and as you can see, the chain and charm are still wrapped in tissue!!

I didn't get it -- I was tempted!! -- but I wasn't crazy about this style. I'm not a fan of messenger style bags and I think this would be rather large and awkward carried on the shoulder either by the longer leather strap or the chain. Now if this has been the smaller coss-body Amalia or the regular Amalia, oh yea -- it would have come home w/me! (I also didn't think the price was THAT great when compared to other bags that have the same retail price -- they had a YSL Muse that was only $1099 and that bag has the same retail as the Lanvin (I think))
