I finally bought a medium black quilted leather Happy after debating about it for close to a year. I was torn between getting it or getting a Chanel classic flap, but with all of the reports of Chanel's quality going down hill - while the prices go up - the Lanvin was seeming like the better choice.

I looked at one back in March but didn't buy it because I was concerned that the straps wouldn't stay on my shoulders. Normally, I cross the inner strap over the outer strap and that usually does the trick, but didn't seem to work with this particular bag. Ever since then I've kept thinking about that bag and decided to look at it again since we have taken a short trip to a city where the bag is available. I went to Barney's first and the only Happy they had was a newer version with different quilting and a larger, more utilitarian shoulder strap on only one of the handles. I really didn't like that one and I was so disappointed because the girl at Barney's told me the older style has been discontinued and I thought I'd missed my chance. But luckily, the city we are visiting has a Lanvin boutique, so I went there next and there it was! The SA at Lanvin said she does not believe this style has been discontinued. So anyway, I bought it and it is such a beautiful bag.

One silly question for those of you who own this bag:

When you pull the chain to make it longer, do you wear it with the flat leather shoulder strap resting on the front of the bag or the back?

I bought Lanvin puzzle wooden wedges in beige from this website. http://www.flannelsfashion.com/clearance-sale/women/footwear.aspx
They are gorgeous, give me instant height and a lot more comfy than the way they look. A bit a shamed to walk on the concrete. They deserved to be on the red carpet!
I also want this Lanvin mini pop bag to match them. :)

Does anybody know will it go on sale anywhere? Boxing day maybe?

Congrats! I don't tend to wear it longer but when I do the shoulder strap is resting on the front of the bag.

Just scored a suede Lanvin Happy at Barneys (reduced to $719 from $1790). I've always wanted this bag in lambskin, but I've never been able to justify spending that much money on a bag that I love but is somewhat impractical for my life (I'm mostly a big-bag girl). I've never seen it in suede so I hope I love it as much as the lambskin!

Congratulations!!! I hope you love it too. I have come to the conclusion that a Lanvin Happy is in my future. Could you please share mod pics? Trying to get a better sense of how it'll look.

Congrats again!

Congrats! I don't think I have ever seen a suede happy. Would love to see pics. :smile1:

Hi all :)

I'm total newbie here, although I've been lurking for years!

After reading all your posts in this thread, I've bit the bullet and bought an Amalia Cabass bag in navy blue (they were out of the purple one that I really wanted) from Harrods for about £550 (ouch!)

Thanks for all the info you've posted here. I will try to post pictures of mine as silverfern's pictures were so helpful :D

I am admiring Lanvin bags more and more and I am about to order my first Lanvin bag in a few days. It will be an Amalia Tote for sure. The bag looks so classy and sophisticated. Can't wait. :woot::presents
