Can anyone tell me if their Lanvin bag has an riri zipper?
the zipper on my new Happy bag is blank, but I just bought a bag off ebay that I have some concerns about and the inner zipper is riri

TIA!!!:flowers:

(I'm also waiting on a call back from a Lanvin SA to verifiy a few things the seller told me)

Has anyone been to the Lanvin store in Paris? (Rue Du Faubourg Saint Honoré)

I'm not going til July but i'm trying to compile a list of places to shop / see / go to.

I've been to the boutique a couple times. Small but has gorgeous window display. The staff are very helpful and friendly.

If you see something on the Lanvin website or somewhere else that you really want, would buy it as they don't have much stock. They do have the best exotic collection.

They also have Lanvin at either Printemps or Galeries Lafayette, can't remember which and VAT is much easier at the department stores.

I've been there, it's a lovely boutique and it's very close to Hermes and Chanel so it's definitely worth going.

Thank you ladies... I find myself pondering over a medium happy and if I do the deed I'd love to buy one in Paris. It's definitely going on my 'to-do' list! :smile1:

Does anyone here own this bag or have owned this bag at some point in time?

no, I love that style and I love the ribbon/leather contrast.

My Amalia bag in the same crinkled leather is 50% off at Departement Feminin again, if anyone is interested. It was an EASY international purchase - they are so helpful.

I have some sad (and scary!!) news to share with all of you -- I recently purchased what turned out to be a fake Lanvin bag. I never even considered the possibility that this bag could have been fake. I just didn't think there was as much interest in Lanvin or this particular style. When I received the bag I was initially thrilled - it was exactly what I had hoped it would be and the leather was just amazing. As I started to look more closely at the bag, however, and research this particular style, I came across an alarming number of fake bags on iOffer, including this VERY bag I had just purchased.

I compared the bag to my Happy bag, spoke to a few representatives at Lanvin and as it turns out, this is what is referred to as a "mirror image replica" - someone w/o a trained eye for fakes or someone who didn't know what to look for would probably never even suspect or guess that this bag was fake. It looked THAT good.

A few of the very subtle differences were the Lanvin coin on which the engraving was not as raised and the lettering and images were not the same size. The lining was also suspect -- altho it was the signature Lanvin black lining, it felt very thin (about half the weight of my Happy bag) and the pattern of the signature and screened image was no consistent with that found in authentic bags. The most telling sign (to me anyhow) was the pattern of wrinkling that this bag had. It was a Wrinkled Lambskin Leather Bag, which if you look back through this thread, you will see has random wrinkles and "dimples" in the leather -- this bag was wrinkled in a very consistent and even pattern throughout the bag (every single diamond quilt has the exact same wrinkled "X" in the center, which unfortunately was consistent with the fakes currently being sold on iOffer)

The point of this message is to let all of you Lanvin fans know about this so that we can all pay closer attention to the bags we buy second hand. I think overall most of the bags found on ebay are probably authentic, however, I think it would be a good idea to ask for addtl pics when considering to purchase a Lanvin bag -- specifically a pic of the Lanvin coin (both sides). If you have another Lanvin bag to compare it to, that would be helpful, but there are some really good detailed pics in the Authenticate This forum - http://forum.purseblog.com/authenticate-this/authenticating-a-lanvin-bag-need-some-help-657403.html. Pics of the lining and the hardware (I also noticed an inconsistency of the hardware on my Happy and the bag I recd). You may also want to search the internet to see if you find a listing for a fake version of the bag you want to buy -- that's actually what started the ball rolling for me. Once I found that listing on iOffer, I had to investigate this further and unfortunately, I turned out to be right in my suspicion

I'd also like to thank tPFers who helped me out by sharing their thoughts and addtl pics --
it really helped A LOT!!:hugs::heart:

Hopefully, my experience will help keep someone else from having the same thing happen to them!

I'm so sorry this happened, I saw your post above yesterday but I'm not remotely an expert so couldn't have possibly helped you. These fakers are becoming too proficient! I hope it gets resolved swiftly for you :smile1:

Just got my baby! Have been craving for this bag for a while finally got it!:D (btw, ignore the bow on the right, I added it myself just for fun)

I have one concern though because I purchased it from Barney's, but it didn't come in a Lanvin box. Should I worry about its authenticity? I mean it looks great to me and Barney's doesn't sell fakes, right? Can anyone tell me whether it is normal or not? Thanks!!!

This is my first Lanvin purchase so I don't really know what to expect. I was shocked that it didn't come with the blue lanvin box. It is supposed to come with it, right?

There is no authenticity card in the bag either. I mean all other designers do, why not Lanvin? Is it normal or just me? I don't know why Barney's did this to me...I was expecting a fancy package...

it's gorgeous FFL!!! And don't worry -- Barney's sells authentic bags!!
I think you only get a blue Lanvin box when you buy a bag from a Lanvin store or their website -- I could be wrong, but I don't think dept stores have the blue boxes for bags (shoes, yes, but not bags).
someone correct me if I'm wrong

as for authenticity cards, I don't think there are any for Lanvin bags -- I bought my Happy directly from Lanvin & all I recd was the original hangtag (there were no care cards or cert of authenticity)

Love your Happy bag -- doesn't it make you :D?!

Thanks so much! You made me feel much better now. I have been worrying the entire day and didn't even get to enjoy the bag! I mean I didn't think I received a fake one, just a bit annoyed for not getting the blue box, because it's so beautiful!
I remember seeing your happy earlier in the thread, and you made me wanna get mine :D
