Hello ladies, I am over the moon becauseI scored a beautiful Lanvin bag today. ( well I scored two, but thats another thread i think ). Anyway, I was looking at it and fell in love. It is a taupe leather and I was looking in the mirror and had a look at the tag. It says 100% reinbeer leather, above in French it says Renne leather. Of course I was startled as I thought it said reindeer and showed to to another lady in the store. She said ' No it sayd Reinbeer '. Anyhow, I bought it and now I am home I googled reinbeer and renne and cant find anything. So please experts, can you tell me if bags are made from reindeer or is a reinbeer a whole different thing?

TIA

Ladies, I have just googled it and a renne is a reindeer in French!!! My conscience is not feeling good. Its 4 weeks before christmas. Did you know bags are made of reindeer? Do they eat the meat?

Deer is also eaten in Asia. I'm actually wondering if manufacturers will differentiate between deer and reindeer since reindeer are deer as well, and cervo bags are pretty common. This is the first time I've heard of renne but I'll admit I don't normally check...

Good point. Deer is common especially with Prada. But the idea of reindeer at Christmas is making me go all soppy. But its the same thing I guess.
