I own the clutch version of this Lanvin bag. Personally I think animal print is better in smaller doses. Also, as you said, pony hair does bald over time, no matter who the designer, so I would avoid getting a pony hair bag to use as an everyday bag or as a shoulder bag, because it would rub against your clothes and accelerate the problem.

I picked this up at Barneys' recent Purple Card promotion. My DD's Hello Kitty wanted to join in the fun... According to Kirna Zabete website's description, this bag called a "Python Happy Partage Handbag." I thought it was just the Happy Shoulder Tote. LOL. :p One small gripe that I have is that my grosgrain ribbon seems rather warped, but then it looks that way in website pictures as well.

here is mine....i love the craftmanship and leather and all that.
i bought it bc it was on sale. i am not a fan of shoulder bag...so i don't use it as much as it deserves. i should have bought the hero instead.

the color faded a little....i am very curious if any bag cost over 1K and the color would not fade. b/c of the color fading issue...now i am more into black bags or dark blue bags...i really hate the fact that the color wouldn't stay the same as new.

shoogrrl: That's a beautiful bag -- I love the metallic gold color and also like the sweet little Hello Kitty toy!

Did you get an extra ribbon with your dustbag?

juneping: Sorry to hear about the color fading on the striking pink Lanvin you have, I wonder what can be done to reduce the chance of the color fading from our lovely bags over time? Other than buying bags made from synthetic materials anyway!

Here is a picture of the Violet Amalia that arrived today. This tote has the most scrumptiously soft leather imaginable and is fantastically lightweight! Pardon the bad lighting, might try and take a few more pictures tomorrow in daylight.

Hi Mochiblure -- Thank you! It's my first Lanvin and I'm quite happy about it. I didn't get an extra robbin in the dustbag though. Is that a standard extra that comes with all Lanvin handbag purchases? If so, I might give the SA a call and have them supply it. TIA!

Btw, what a gorgeous violete Amalia!! I was so caught up on the Happy Sac that I completely overlooked the Amalia. Being a mom of two myself, I think I might have to take a closer look at that style as well. :p

shoogrrl: I'm not sure about the extra ribbon being standard, this is my first Lanvin purchase also. I just found the extra ribbon in the sleeper bag it came with. Perhaps you can call and ask your SA?

I'm actually having second thoughts about the color of the Amalia -- the purple is completely delectable, however I would think the black leather would make for a more practical option with a baby on the way in December.

Thoughts and opinions on this are very welcome!

Oh, it is rather large compare to my leopard happy sac but it sure will give you more space for more stuff.

Shoogirl: I love your Happy bag! It's exactly the one I want!

Mochiblure: The purple is lovely! I'm pretty sure it will go with a lot. If you tend to wear basic colors then it should go with pretty much everything actually. I didn't realize these bags came with just 1 ribbon threaded through. My amalia MM has one ribbon going through each chain.
