mochiblure: I think you should keep the purple - it is so much more interesting than the black - I particularly like how Lanvin mixes colors. It is still relatively dark so won't show that much wear.

Hey!
Just curious - does anyone know what Lanvin bag this is? It says Autumn / winter 2008 but doesn't have a model name. I bought it today and can't decide how I feel about it. Similar to what other people have said it is pretty big but has no dividing pockets on the inside. just that big (and honestly a bit clunky) pocket on the outside.

Actually, that bag is from SS08 and it's called " Noanne". It came in GHW and SHW.
I had the black one with SHW but ended up selling it due to its weight. I bought it to use as a work bag to carry files and documents inside but the bag is waaay too heavy for my linking:shrugs:

And, like you, I didn't like the fact that the bag didn't have dividing compartments unlike my Partage from SS08, which as been my daily workhorse:yes:

Congrats on your Happy! And welcome to the club!:yahoo:I have the Happy MM size in embossed goat leather from FW08...it's deceptively large and goes with everything, doesn't it????

BTW, getting the extra ribbon isn't the standard procedure for Lanvin!

Ahh! Thanks so much! As a newbie - what is SHW and GHW? :). I actually was thinking about the portage too but they only had the taupe (and it had a little ink mark on the outside) and I wasn't sure how I felt about taupe (or the ink). Even though it was practically free ($550!!) I'm currently carrying an MJ Collection bag and besides the fact that I think I have outgrown MJ, he is the king of heavy bags so the Noanne actually feels light. I am just going to have to figure out how to divide my bag up myself. I'm thinking of heading over to Anya Hindmarch for some little puches :).

mochiblure - I really love that color and I do think you should keep it cuz you have tons of options for black bags but it's not easy to find a pretty purple that you love.

Shoogirl how I wish! I moved from NYC a while ago and though my heart is still there, I no longer am:sad: I do miss the days when Barney's was a short walk away... I am in Manila now and buying online is just not an option unless I want to pay double the amount in taxes and fees. Will have to wait until I make a trip, or convince the owner of the boutique that carries Lanvin here to order these.

Ooooh you should definitely get the Partage! My friend recently got hooked on it as well:graucho: I adore the bag to death......haven't carried anything else(for work) for the past year and a half since I bought the bag.
While taupe is gorgeous, I think you should hold out for a black or a navy. This bag isn't something you baby, and if you don't baby gorgeous taupe bags, they'll end up looking gray after 6 months LOL
I used to have the original MJ Stella but I'm not a fan of his bags....mainly because of the weight!

So... after much internal debate... I am actually selling the noanne bag on ebay. I stumbled upon a bottega veneta that I have been DYING for at a great price so I'm selling the Lanvin to pay for the BV. I guess that means I will have to wait a bit more for the Lanvin - but I am keeping my eyes peeled!
