This seems like a fun thread! My mom bought me my first Coach bag. Don't remember the name but I see it in a lot in the collection thread.

My first bag too! I had it in brown though. It's long gone and sold.

My first Coach was a black siggy Carly my dh bought me when we were dating in 2007. Whenever I want a new purse I remind him that he started the collection and has only himself to blame. Every year he buys me a new bag for Christmas, but the past 2 years it's been LV. I just don't care as much for the new stuff Coach has out. But I still have, and use, that black siggy Carly. And he still loves to see me carry it.

It seems that a lot of us started with signature bags or classic vintage leather. I still love the vintage leather bags and I still have a a couple of sig bags, but my tastes changed quickly and I usually prefer leather when I buy a modern bag.

Although I still often enjoy sig accessories. I am currently carrying a sig makeup bag and a new sig wallet inside of my leather bag! They are cute, tough, and light-weight!

My first Coach, 2003 British Tan Willis, bought at an outlet in 2004. I carried her every day for 4 years solid. She's a little worn, but still looks pretty good for the amount of abuse she endured. I was super rough on my purses back in the day. Here she is with her baby sister.

The first Coach bag I can remember is the City Bag in British Tan. It was my undergrad graduation gift in 1988 from my Dad and step-mom. My step-mom always carried Coach. I kept that one for a while before giving it away but I think about buying a new one from time to time. I wish I had kept all those nice bags! :D

My first Coach bag was a black on black siggy Carly with silver hardware. I coveted that bag for months, and finally broke down and bought it, at full price(!), on a trip to Vegas, probably somewhere around 2007-2008 (I'm guessing). Sadly, my gambling addicted ex-husband lost so much money on that trip I had to return it the next morning without ever even taking it out of the bag.

My second Coach bag, also purchased at full price around 2008-2009, was a Poppy Jazzy Hobo in grey/black siggy with amazing bright purple lining. I adored that bag and carried it every day for probably two years. I just sold it on eBay last year, and it was hard to let it go. After two years of use it still looked brand new.

THIS was the bag that made me fall in love with Coach. I used to go to the mall and just stare at all the Coach bags that the swanky department store carried.

Pretty! I have a dear friend that always carries a vintage black collegiate bag that she bought in 1989 before her daughter was born. She loves that bag and it has held up well over the years of constant use.

I wanted to "expand her horizons" so I gave her this beautiful British Tan City Bag that I bought second hand for $7 at the thrift store and rehabbed. She loved it and carried it for awhile but then she was back to her old faithful black colleagiate bag.

She told me that her adult daughter loved the BT City Bag as soon as she saw it and borrowed it. She wears it all the time and won't give it back! I was a little annoyed because I wanted my friend to have it, but now I am okay with it because my friend told me:

"I know that my daughter shouldn't have taken it when she knew it was a special gift from my friend; but I let her have it because I was rather pleased that she wanted to wear anything out of my closet!" :D

I'd always loved leather bags, but I balked at buying Coach because they were more expensive than other nice leather bags I could buy. When I was older and could better afford it I came across this flap bag at Nordstrom and just loved the soft smooth leather and the style.

A few years later I got a Nordstrom catalog with a photo of this gallery tote, and it was love at first sight and I immediately bought it.

After that I picked up Coach bags occasionally, but that was before I knew about the outlets or PCE or other ways to buy at discount. After I found TPF and learned that I didn't have to buy full price and there were ways to get bags cheaper, my collection exploded.

My first Coach was a brown siggy duffle. It was a little smaller than the ones in the recent legacy collection and the bottom wasn't as square shaped as the new ones. I can't find a picture online because all that comes up are pictures of the new siggy duffles. I had just finished my first year of college and just became aware of Coach because all the girls in my dorm and on campus had siggy purses and wristlets. My mom took me to the outlet for my birthday and it was love at first sight

That bag is too small for me now so I let my mom "borrow" it but she won't use it as a daily bag because she thinks it's too nice. Either me or her will keep it forever!

The first things I ever got from Coach are fobs and this scarf:

Then, I got a 3 x 5 agenda (still use it every day):

My first small bag was a Hamptons Leather Capacity Wristlet. I have since gifted this to my mom:

My first full sized Coach bag was my croc Lindsey:

Ah that is just beautiful! Now that's the Coach I remember and fell in love with! It makes me remember when Coach bags came with the post card that you had to mail in to register the bag!

My first Coach purse was this baby here, my avatar ---

And I told my mother after getting this girl and the three MFF leather duffles (black, brown, and silver) I would never need another purse.:rofl::lolots::rofl::lolots:

But my first Coach items back in the day was the silver/gold lurex kisslock coin purse. Late 90's or early 00's. My mom had bought it for me as a special present at the PX. $40 for a coin purse was VERY extravagant at that time. I still hope it is packed up somewhere I haven't looked yet, but I've been trying to replace it for years.

Later, I got my sister and I green siggy kisslock coin purses that had a light strip of leather up the front at an outlet off 95. The green was so pretty. We both still have ours, this would have been mid-00's.

But the graphite/pink Candace - yep, all her fault! Went from a regular rotation of two purses and a messenger bag to 30+ purses in two years, all but one are Coach.

(I also have small collections of kisslock coin purses and legacy wristlets.)
I absolutely love that color combo. Who would have thought a pop of hot pink would be so fabulous on a neutral gray bag?

This is not my picture. I had this Coach Basic Bag in Navy to go with my uniform. My first Coach. I had that bag for five years and sold it at my garage sale to my neighbors mom. I really loved and used that bag!
