I was out at a popular restaurant recently with my family and was carrying my favorite H bag. A woman, about ten years older than I, got up from her table and walked toward the door; I thought she was preparing to leave, but I was wrong. She stood directly in front of me staring at my bag without moving for a solid five minutes. She glared a bit, circled me, and then went back to her table and eyed me up and down for a few more minutes before taking leave of the restaurant about ten minutes later... Strange!!

Well that's some entirely tactless behavior for sure! I would not know what to do myself in that situation...what can you say? Sorry that happened! The worst I've ever had are girlfriends/wives whispering to their BF/DH while walking by me and I then hear the man say (loudly)..."it cost what????"

It was bizarre! Fortunately, I was still at the front waiting to be seated, so I looked right past her into the dining area or chatted up my family. My Dh was really amused!:smile1:

purselover, words fail me! People have some of the worst manners here in the USA and I can't imagine this ever happening in Europe, especially in Switzerland or Sweden, where I once lived. As I mentioned previously, I don't like people ~ except my intimate family and very closest friends ~ touching, stroking or fondling my belongings or myself. Who does this, especially in public? I am absolutely bewildered. No-one has ever approached me, thank goodness because I would not be amused. At least I am prepared from the stories that I have read here.

Totally agree with you dear ! I can not emagine someone come over and try to touch my bag 😱😱🤔I think I will totally freak out..
As to strange behavior , last summer in Monte Carlo me and DH done some shopping in LV and they packages are rather bulky .
We was stroling with those bags and then we hear a shout " OH MY GOD !! Just look at that !!! A couple of elderly American ladies stopped at sidewalk and been pointing at us ...I start looking behind my back , but to my surprise that was addressed to us ... that was strange moment ..,

Was she a hyena? Seems like typical behaviour for a scavenger... I'll have to check out some of my textbooks on exotic species to make sure.

It was odd, for sure! It took me a few minutes to even realize what she was doing, I thought she was just waiting for her friends to catch up with her and meet her by the door... a few minutes into this bizarre behavior, I realized it was something else. I can't get over some of the other rude comments and gestures others on this thread have endured as well! Certainly, not the way most of us were taught to behave...

Circling and glaring would have made me very nervous. Sounds like you were not ruffled. I admire your poise.
