My fiance bought me a lindy for my birthday. We've been together for 5 years now. And one of my girlfriend saw and asked if i want to sell it because according to her im not suitable carrying a H. Ive listed her on my do not ever talk again list because i just dont need that kind of negativity in my life LOL. Nobody tells u u cant have a H. :)

Such a unhappy person she must be!

Enjoy carrying your Lindy - I have no doubt you rock that bag! :rochard:

Oh my goodness! What a sad person. You almost have to feel sorry for her. Such jealousy is pathetic

One friend called me crazy for spending on my first K. She said, 'why didn't you get it in Europe instead? ' I tried to explain the whole H process... The waiting, developing the relationship with the SA etc. And that I have a great relationship with my store and that My chances were better at my home base. The entire group looked at me like I was talking crazy lol. I guess those who aren't into the crazy world of H don't get it!
Another friend said that I shouldn't use the twillys to wrap the handles.. Because it looks 'tacky' I happen to find it pretty depending on what I'm wearing. None of them wear/ buy H. I choose to brush off the comments as it's not enough to stop being friends with them. However I admit it makes me feel a little bad when they say things...

These types of incidents remind me why I don't talk about H with anyone other than my BFF and my DDs. :hugs:

Once I was using my earings in 18 karats gold and diamonds in an ordinary day of work and i had this collègue that said to me like this, " oh that's a nice pair of from Truds you've got there , hum!?!?" , Truds is a store that sells cheap fake jewellry and staff here in my gown...
And my earings are from a very famous jewellry mark .:p

Same here. I only wear anything Hermes when I am either with my family or my friends who are into designer brands. I rarely talk about my passion for Hermes unless the other person is into it as well. Most of the time I carry my Evelyne with the H facing inward, it's so low key, most of the people wouldn't take a second look.

People are toxic out of jealousy and insecurity. Ignore them!

The twilly comment is so silly! I've had friends tell me that twillys make the bags prettier and more individualized.

Not long ago, I went into a Wendy's fast food place, and before I got in line, I set down a couple of books and magazines on a table, just to reserve my place. As I was then in line, a family came in--Mom, Dad and bratty four year old boy. The boy started to climb onto the table where I had my books, and so I rushed over just shoo the kid away. :yucky: I wasn't mean or anything, but OMG!!! The Mom descended on me as if I had just punched the kid or something. :lecture: And then she said, "What are you even doing here, with your Hermes bag and all?" Mind you, she was carrying a Goyard bag, which I pointed out. :censor:

Unbelievable! :shrugs:

Have you ever been bag-shamed like that?

Oh my god! I think you were shamed for going into Wendy's not for your bag :lolots:

Also never forget, there is no shame in loving both Hermes and fast food:

That's a first! Every person who ever commented on twillies to me (men and women) have said they were striking. Many have told me they would try to find silk to fit their bags accordingly for color coordination, simple change, and handle preservation. No one has ever said they were tacky so I really don't know whether to laugh here or cry.

I have been through an assortment of these situations, even in the H boutique, by SAs no less, but no one has ever been anything but pleasant. No mean faces, no anger (at least I did not see it). Mainly, the average person does not know, and those who do always smile or just stare. Friends and family, by and large, have H so no finger-pointing about costs, etc.

I read through this thread. These stories are sad and funny at the same time.

Except stares, turning heads (literally) and sometimes really random mean faces... No.
I know I am quite young but I wouldnt expect ladies around 50 to look at me with faces like if we were in high-school. Sometimes I will pass by someone and get huge eyes and mad eyebrows.
When I didnt have my bag I was happy and more excited to see one up close, why being mad...
