This thread has gotten really boring, no more fun "rude" stories. Just debate after debate about whats right and wrong....
That is a little rud IMO.
Sometimes discussing rude remarks from others/stories brings out the opinions of others about what they would do in a similar situation. It can also elicit responses from others that have strong feelings about the way others have been treated. To be expected with a topic such as this, no?

Yes. To be able to debate and share is what makes the world evolve, and hopefully into a better one.

I wasn't trying to offend anyone or belittle anyones remarks... I just feel the thread has gotten really serious, but had been really fun to read and "light". I keep hoping to come read more stories, so carry on disregard my opinion if you don't agree.

I am not sure what is considered "fun" with people being catty or rude? Do you read these posts as amusement? I do not fully understand why anyone would find peoples bad experiences with rude and evil remarks to be fun. No offence but I really don´t understand. To me it is not funny at all.

Sorry to be ot.

Yes I do read the pf for amusement in general. I just don't find the remarks that serious. If I ever get a rude a comment about my birkin, I actually will find it funny (no LOL or LMAO, but a thats ridiculous with a chuckle) that people are so concerned. I certainly won't feel bad or go home upset, but I may vent about it on here.

I think this thread was created as a place to vent for those who have experienced what they feel is rude behaviour regarding their Hermes items.

I'm sure everyone means to be empathetic ... just want to post a reminder that people on PF come from different countries, speak different languages, have different religious beliefs (or none) and different cultures. What is appropriate behaviour somewhere would not be elsewhere.

Everyone is going to judge and respond to rudeness/sarcasm/comments differently. Appreciating that people are trying to be respectful of differing viewpoints, can I ask that we get back to the subject, which is actual instances of rudeness, and not "how I would handle it if it happended to me" kinds of responses?

Many thanks. :flowers:

Basically I'm agreeing with this....

I think you may have misunderstood her. She's not saying that these things are funny; obviously they're not. But it's entertaining to read stories about the odd reactions some might get with their designer pieces.

The first post, about the friend who completely lost it in the restaurant, is entertaining because this grown man was so flabbergasted that he blew up in the middle of a restaurant!

In a later post, a women mentioned how her friend was stressed out and told her that she could pay off her children's college fees with the amount of money that that women spent on clothing & accessories. Could you imagine? She probably said it without thinking. But at the same time, it's awful and surprising to hear that.

These posts aren't funny, and she didn't say that they were. But reading these stories is entertaining because people really shouldn't be saying rude or catty things to anyone. So when they do, it's interesting to hear about. I mean, why do you think reality TV is so popular? :)

She said the posts were boring ie. the debate etc. I read to educate myself as well as for entertaining. I love knowledge. I do not think I misunderstood but that is my opinion.

Well stated, exactly what I meant.;)

Yesterday at NM I was carrying my blue jean croc Birkin and while I was browsing the clothing dept I saw some Chinese women eying me and my bag. A couple seconds later they began talking aloud about me and my purse! I am white so obviously they didn't expect that I knew mandarin. They said that my bag was ugly and probably a fake and that I needed to lose weight! I was hurt to say the least. I wanted to say something or let them know that I knew chinese but decided against it. Unfortunately this isn't the only time I've heard Chinese women talk bad about white people in a public setting. I can't believe adults can be so catty!

Oh, I SO wish you'd said something to let them know you understood! It not only would have served them right but perhaps made them more cautious about such behavior in the future. I would say it is most likely that they were jealous of you and your beautiful bag, so please don't let their stupid remarks trouble you.
